Are offers like this worth playing?

Bearing in mind I have never had any luck with casinos.

Stake £10 on a slot machine and get £15 back as a bonus. The £15 is then subject to 20x wagering in the casino before it can be withdrawn. I just can't imagine that 20 x £15 would result in anything other than the bonus being eroded to zero before the wagering requirements are met.

Is there a particular strategy to playing these or should I just pass?

I played a similar offer once, stake £5, win a £5 bonus. I turned it into £7,906.12 with some sheer good luck! http://katykicker.com/biggest-win-of-my-life

Pretty sure that was the offer anyway!

Obviously with variation it is hard to say that those offers will 100% lead to profit, as they won't, but because of 95-98% returns on the majority of the slots you use for offers like that there is a chance you'll make some profit. These are known as risky offers, rather than the risk free offers that you will often use during matched betting.

Personally I like to use a small amount of each month's profit to try offers like this. Some lose, of course, but I like to keep playing, build my balance up and then go for a couple of big stakes to hit the wagering requirements to cash out. This pays off sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't, but be sure to read the T&Cs of each offer thoroughly as I was recently caught out after doing £5 stakes on an offer which was more than was allowed as per the T&Cs. On this occasion I got my payout, as I'm a VIP customer, but next time I won't be so lucky!
