Your local credit union or citizens advice would probably be a better option

Could you ask your boss for next months pay a week in advance, just this once to help you out?

Payday loans are a bad idea.

For food and basics, you should contact your local foodbank (do a google search and check your area on google maps - the trussel trust search doesn't show them all). If you feel bad about using one, don't. That's one of the things they are there for, so people don't have to use payday loans to buy food.

My understanding (having not used one myself) is that you usually have to be referred to a foodbank - you can't just 'turn up'.

Hi @Kiiwi, if you still need a bit of money, Sumup.io have a offer currently where they give you £10 within a matter of minutes after signing up and verifying your profile -

It takes a few minutes to sign up and you will literally have the money in your account within a matter of minutes.

Theres also the Zilch offer of a free £10 to spend upon sign up straight away, you can use this virtual card for sites like Justeat, Amazon, Iceland, ebay etc. I used it to buy myself a takeway and if you want a small food shop for example, you can make up the difference with the Sumup tenner-

There is a Luno offer of a free £10 worth of Bitcoin instantly which you can convert to GBP also, no deposit upon sign up and verification. I completed this last year, I've googled a Reddit thread with someones promo code that you can use for it- BPCOSHEA - enter this in the rewards section. Cash out took me about 5 mins to receive it into my account.

£30 there for you today with the 3 offers above, for the next month or so theres the following you could consider-

Chip savings app offer of a free £10 after 30 days. You deposit £1, keep it in the savings account for 30 days & £10 credited-

Join the 400,000 people saving with Chip, and we'll get you started with a free £10.
- Download the Chip app here: https://getchip.page.link/app
- Head to the "Promos & Referrals" section on your profile and enter the code CHIP-YXP857

You should definitely check out the Tide bank offer for future £, they give £75 free into your business account a few weeks after you deposit £1. You don't have to keep the account open.

You should definately sign up for prolific.co studies if you haven't already. I've made £341 in the last year from their. Also populus.live is another I definately reccomend, I've made £100 the past 2 months from their and on course for another £50 pay out this month.

You could try Zilch? It'll give you £10 when you signup, you can get a voucher for Sainsburys and other food outlets along with places like Amazon.

You can spend it in miniutes and order a voucher using the points and use their virtual debit card

1. Register using the link: https://customers.payzilch.com/signup?inviteCode=8nBwwj,

2. Add debit card and verify your ID. You will receive 1000 points, £10 to spend on your new virtual debit card for free!

3. Select the retailer you’d like to spend your £10 on or select ‘Zilch anyway’ which will enable you to spend it on any website.

4. Make sure the toggle to use reward balance is on

5. Head to checkout using the Zilch card details it'll deduct the £10 from that card!

This is some really simple easy and can be done in 5 minutes.

The LUNO offer I probably wouldn't do as you can't withdraw less than £10 or sell it I don't believe on Luno. But you can send it elsewhere if you change it to Lite coin I believe. I've a code that gives you £10 just for signing up (no deposit) but it' nowhere near as quick or easy as Zilch. And to be honest if you aren't that clued up on crypto its not the best way for instant cash.

https://www.luno.com/signup - enter BPDWESTGRATH in rewards section

Any tips on any quick loan companies to borrow £30 for a short time with low interest?
Hi guys!
I'm looking for a trustworthy quick loan company to borrow £30 for a short period of time. I intend to give it back no later than 16th Jan.
I know it's not a great idea and I've been trying to avoid it as much as possible (never have taken a quick loan before). However, I've just moved back to the UK, had some unexpected expenses in the process. My phone bill, rent and other necessities are already paid for the month of Jan. I've already started working and will make alright money, I'll get paid weekly.
I need the money to be able to get to work until I start getting paid on the 15th. Public transport works out to around £5.50-£7 per day for me. I'd literally walk if it was any closer, unfortunately, it's around 15 km.
I appreciate any advice guys. Thanks in advance.
Edit:
Overdraft is not an option. Credit card would take too long to arrive. Borrowing from family or friends is not an optiom.

A payday loan is a bad idea.

Have you tried looking for or applying for a small interest free credit card?

Capital One are usually a good company to go with for a quick interest free credit card and it means you'll only pay back what you use.

Hope this helps.

From what I have heard, steer clear from payday loans...you may quickly find yourself in worse debt which maybe come unmanageable. The same goes for loan sharks. Can you not get a bank overdraft or is that going to mean high interest too? Are there any bank switches you can do to get free money?

Would definitely recommend you having a credit card if you are able to get one, as long as you pay off monthly it's completely interest free and it's really helpful in these kind of scenarios as long as you don't abuse it

If you have bad credit try a company like Aqua or Vanquis

Vanquis is a credit card for building credit score, they have an offer for a free £25 when you sign up using a referral link, here’s mine:

https://www.vanquis.co.uk/raf-app?code=8CC4C9C35D0282713B42

Or try applying with your bank if they offer cards as if you are a current customer they may be willing

Before resorting to payday loans, consider exploring other avenues. Reach out to local charities or food banks in your area; they often provide assistance to individuals in need. Additionally, you can check if there are any community programs or organizations offering short-term financial help.
When it comes to financial matters, it's always a good idea to seek advice. In my own experience, I typically consult with a Mortgage Broker in Harlow. They have a wealth of knowledge about various financial options and can guide you towards a more sustainable solution.

I completely empathize with your situation, and it's not uncommon to face unexpected financial challenges. While payday loans might seem like a quick solution, their high-interest rates can create more financial stress down the road.
