The ASA (advertising standards agency) always provides a great source for reading their rulings on a weekly basis. This one really caught my eye:

https://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2015/7/Simon-Stepsys-Success-International-Ltd/SHP_ADJ_300740.aspx#.VazdmvlViko

Basically, some guy placed adverts in a national newspaper claiming that he will teach you to make over £5k per day with no selling, etc blah blah blah we've heard it all before.

The action that was taken:

"The ads must not appear again in their current form. We told Simon Stepsys Success International Ltd to ensure that they did not make earnings claims unless they could be substantiated, and not to claim that selling was not involved in an opportunity if that was not the case."

fucking empower network

The main problem I Feel is there there are still enough idiots out there to blindly throw money at things to try and make money

as long as there is a market for this sort of shit, people will give him money to try and copy him ideas/concepts which are just blogging anyway

Doesn't he look like a t*** on that photo?

yes but again the real problem is that there are people out there giving him money to make him a millionaire

YourSayPays, Banner Brokers, EMpower network - all that stuff just has clueless people signing up to it all day everyday

Well it's nice to see that the ASA are actually upholding complaints about this type of scheme (and yes, he does look like a total t*** !)

The problem with the ASA is that it's pretty toothless. As it has no legal backing advertisers can simply ignore rulings.

Most legitimate advertisers will adhere to the rulings as the embarrassment might do them commercial harm, and the individuals might harm their future employment prospects if they don't. But the sharks out there can (and do) just laugh in the ASA's face.

This is why I never lie about earnings - one day you might get in the shit! Who would believe this? I guess someone would have a go!
