BeMyEye have very kindly paid me £2 as a thank you for trying to do the job. I wish they'd spread the jobs out a bit more. This is my gripe with Field Agent as well. They are too city concentrated. If I travelled to Leeds, I'd have to do 3 jobs before it paid for the petrol.

Are we likely to get in trouble if seen by security guards? Has anyone ever been questioned. What do you say?

[member=2396]BeMyEye[/member] Hi, thanks for posting here.

I like your app - I think it's really well designed and much easier than some apps to go back and check the details (for example what a gondola end etc i.e. on the baby wipes tasks @ Boots). However I have a gripe with the way you pay. I've done quite a few Iceland jobs today, but not a single store carried the product you were looking for. This reduces the payment substantially (£2.50 iirc) despite the fact that you've had to carry out the same amount of work.

Other apps, such as Field Agent & Streetspotr pay out even if the the product isn't in stock/stocked - surely this information is as valuable to the client as to what the promotion offer is. For example during a recent StreetSpotr task some of the bars I visited were no longer trading - despite this I was still paid for the spot. Then during a recent Field Agent audit I was paid despite the fact that not all products were stocked in Asda.

I understand the rationale for 'encouraging' people to search for the product and take photos, but it's surely unfair to be penalised if the product isn't stocked. Only get paid £1 to go to Iceland is pretty pitiful imo, compared to other apps.

[member=1474]Hook[/member] It's our policy that Eyes are only paid when they find the product; this is in the 'How A Job Works' section at the start of each Job. This is part of our business model and allows us to increase the quality of work we receive from Eyes and produce for clients.
If you do not feel that a Job is convenient for you or if it not worth doing, then you are under no obligation to do it.

In relation to the new Jobs we have uploaded, if an Eye finds that a product (in this case the incontinence pants) are carried by the store but are not in stock then we award the Eye with the credits. If we award the Eye credits if they simply state that the product is out of stock then we cannot verify this and send the information to our client.

Thanks,
BeMyEye Team

Thanks for the response. I simply mention this as when you take a different approach to monetary rewards to the other shopping apps you may find that some
jobs become very unpopular.

You will see comments on this thread from others who weren't impressed with the fact that if products are not stocked or out of stocked you are not rewarded for it and that they were left out of pocket after travelling (as I was today).

In addition you might wish to read the comments on the Roamler thread with regard to remuneration. There are many members here who no longer state that they go out of the way to do Roamler jobs as they pay so little.

You state that there is no way of verifying whether they are out of stock or not stocked, however that is your choice. Field Agent, StreetSpotr etc all allow you to take photos showing the item is out of stock (indeed recently Streetspotr ran a similar toilet roll audit in Asda, Morrisons etc) and you simply had to provide to a photo showing the empty shelf or an overview to show it wasn't stocked. They paid £7 for each of those jobs.

Please accept that this is just constructive criticism and some comments from somebody who does a lot of work via these apps. As I said in my initial post there are many positives to the app, but ultimately people like me need the money and therefore travelling 6/7 miles to complete a job which you end up getting paid £1 for is frustrating and unlikely to promote positive word of mouth or referrals.

Sorry I also meant to reply to this section.

I understand it is clearly stated, however you have no way of knowing until you get to the job how much you wil end up getting paid. Therefore you can't possibly know until you get there whether a job is worth doing - do you really think that's fair?

As I said in my previous post you could provide a way for your 'eyes' to evidence the lack of a product but you choose not to.

Totally agree, its not fair and i wont be going out my way for these jobs as simply not worth my time, 'just in case'. If im near one, fine but its really not worth travelling for.

Will definitely go out my way for Field Agent/Task 360 - fantastic apps.

I'm glad it's not just me - after writing my post I was wondering if I had been a bit harsh.

I agree with you as well.
The only way to find out if a job is worth doing is to phone the store and ask if they stock the product(s) you're looking for. You shouldn't have to (and this could be done after a task is submitted, by BeMyEye or the client, to verify if a store does not stock products rather than them simply being out of stock) but it might be better than wasting your time.

[member=2396]BeMyEye[/member] Couple of things for your Android app. It would be great to have a list view of the jobs to see what is available and perhaps a filter.
For instance currently there are toilet roll checks and baby wipe checks and I'd like to see only toilet roll checks only or other way around.
It would be great to have a setting to adjust target area so you will only get alerts if you are within certain limit of the location i.e. within 5 miles.

I understand your concern but that is simply how the BeMyEye policies are. We get given a set criteria from our clients on what data needs to be gained. If we cannot pass the information onto our clients then it will be Jobs that are being approved at a loss to us. We are a start-up company so we do take everyone’s opinions into consideration but we stand firm on our policies.

In relation to the Roamler comment and about less pay. Our current Jobs are paying £8, £6.50 and £3.50 for simple audit checks. We constantly inform our Eyes to only complete Jobs if it will be worth their while.

In relation to out of stock items, we do pay in certain Jobs if the Eye is able to show that the item is carried by the store even if it is out of stock. If the item is carried but out of stock we do approve the Jobs on many of the campaigns. On the other hand, if the item is not carried by the store we cannot have the audit check verified as Eyes could take a picture of anything and state the item is there.

All bonuses we give are through BeMyEye and therefore the more bonuses we give the less we earn as a company. We attempt to maintain a strong positive relationship with our Eyes however we are vulnerable to criticisms when in fact we are simply abiding to the requirements from our clients.
[member=1908]asajj[/member] We are currently working on improving the app and will take your advice into consideration.

Thanks, BeMyEye Team
