No question is strange here at TMS we all learn stuff in here... As Jon says Billboards literally that... They used to be very widespread.. Best I did was about 40 in a small town in Kent... They can be the huge billboards you see by roads or side of bus stops... The ones yesterday were the small digital ones inside shopping malls... Billboards are just about the only BME tasks I touch now as they are super easy

Aw, thank you for your reply. I'm such a newbie in all of this learning more and more.

I was wondering just today over the amount of running around time investment if the payout is worth it.
The main thing I am gaining is experience so I shouldn't complain.

I'am a bit befuddled by how BME actually works. The other evening I noticed their map said I was in front or by a task, however, it was my home address. Out of curiosity, I clicked it on. Sure enough, it was showing the task. There was nothing I could do (?) I could perform it, I'm not a florist or garden centre lol.

So I cancelled it out, by morning I noticed my level dropped, and my xp was removed.
I've contacted them twice, and haven't had any response.

So, unsure how long I will stick around with them.

Wasn't the task one of those do at home type ones? Sadly yes if you don't complete or abandon a task your xp goes down... One thing about is a task worth it... Tbh in my opinion this weather very few are worth the effort and time.. But you are best judge of that... Always read the full brief then decide also... If a task has the dreaded up arrow... Meaning you COULD earn x amount.. 99% of the time those are bargepole.. As in don't touch with a.... Sadly the task apps are a shadow of what they used to be

When I think back to the 'wild' days of these sort of apps like @mabozza and co used to do all the work that was available I wonder if it was because it was quite new technology and so clients / brands etc were willing to throw money at them because well it probably went like this

Client : We need to know how our Pepsi Max displays look in store

Traditional Mystery Shopping company : That's not a problem, we can get that information to you by the end of next week.

Roamler, Field Agent, Task360 etc : We can give you that information in real-time

Due to the fact the work doesn't pay as much now it's either a case of clients now willing to pay out so much due to the quality of the results (I remember camera quality being an issue years ago!) or these smartphone task companies are wanting to take a bigger wedge due to the fact the clients won't pay anymore and so it's the bee worker (ie, you and me) who get stuffed and so are paid less.

However, people will ALWAYS do this sort of work so they are in a sort of win-win situation.

They could offer £2 to go in-store and do a check and the reality is that people WILL do them and they probably know that!

Tis true Jon... as i see it there are tons of work on the apps...99% being bargepoles, the app tasks now are mostly the "old school" MS jobs... so many are non mystery jobs with loads of jobs requiring interaction with staff/merchandising.. For example one on Roamler just now.. Yazoo 1 litre...go in, find the product take pics (x 3 different product x 2 locations in store) then restock the shelves and request a move of product from ambient to fresh, get staff to reprint shelf labels and position shelf barkers.. all for £4... i remember for example the Amazon fire table task in same store... 4 pictures in and out in 4 mins £6!! I dunno so much that folk are doing the crap jobs though TBH...i see the bargepoles sitting untouched day after day... even the decent tasks are not subject to the mad scramble among taskers that used to happen, i think many of the original App Taskers have chucked it

I don't do those merchandising tasks because they always ask for ID and of course I dont have it. I show them the authority letter and they hardly ever accept it which means its a waste of time for me. There's not a lot I want to do on roamler atm. They have the makeup checks but it takes ages to do them and its like £3. Waste of time for £3!

Yeah... Those are what we call bargepole tasks.. For anyone who may be new to task apps.. The "LOA" letter of authority.. Is as useful as a 1 inch wide chimney to Santa... More often than not they find a logo of the store and stick it on a letter with a made up name of who wrote it.. Just a nonsense... I once made up an ID using logos of all the task apps my picture etc which I would show when asked for ID.. It did work all the time

Hi Mabozza,

Sorry for the late reply. This task is where you go into a florist shop, think it was called Flower Power." Excluding; Morrisons, Asda, etc. and, locate 2 different types of flowers, 10 questions, ask florist a question or 2, take photos all while remaining secretive.
I did reach out to BME and explained my situation about the pin was located on my home address. If I was honest, I wasn't holding my breath, on a reply. (Extensive forum reading). However, I have to admit the agent who replied handled my query within minutes, and restored my points. I think I was even given a little bit extra .

Thankfully, I have learned so much from TMS. As to what's a good mission and what not to touch. I do like the interaction task, however, the amount of money they're willing to pay to restock shelves, audits, hang signs, & photos that's if it's correctly done, most are £5.00 I personally wouldn't touch.

Oh a good note, I've been knocking out "the holidays are coming" missions. All I need is a pair of roller blades.

Wow, totally agree. Took me forever along with the hair colour checks.

What does the holiday are coming mission require?

My understanding is that this app is STACKED with work at the moment! Is that the case for anyone?

I just checked and there are a couple within a couple of miles for me, which is rare. Still can't be arsed to follow all those instructions for £4 when I can do a populuslive survey in half that time for the same money without going anywhere :)

It is fairly busy Jon aye, but not one of the tasks i would even go near TBH ...most have the dreaded "£x-£x" pay.... these generally see you spending 45 mins in Tesco looking for all the things they want and you end up getting the minimum pay... (£2 for 45 mins work) the ones that are set pay are poorly paid with lots of work

Wow, isn't that very, very truthful... I did 5 stores before Christmas, all were approved and not one of them paid out over £4.00 quid. I was not happy by any means .... Then, I bought 8 stouts with my payout to drown my sorrows ... lol

Take solace in the fact you are not alone... BME almost always do this to those who give these a go..my rule of thumb when i look at any BME job if it has a "£x to £x " reward i scroll past.. I am convinced they include one or two things which just dont exist in the store you go to,to be sure of only needing to pay out the absolute minimum but getting the results they want anyway.

Ha ha, I'm such a newbie in this world. I had to quickly open BME to understand £x ha ha .... Slow at the receiving end. Or it could be all this bleach they use on my head... lol You, know I think you're completely correct on your point in the matter. I did one store that was an express the following week. There were only 4 displays in this very tiny store. I double checked everything, before submitting. Not even 20 mins later they emailed me stating I failed, of missing a display and could go back... I replied saying there is no way I could of missed anything in that store. It's not bigger than a bread box. Short story long. I determined it wasn't worth the drive and decline and had points taking away... which is rubbish. What I found very odd, the store never reappeared.

4 Pets at home ones near me. They’re a pain to do but are paying £25 so will probably go and try the closest one tomorrow morning.

I have one as well. However, from what all I read I think I will give those a miss. I have my hands in so many new things that I never even knew existed. My head is all over the place ... with researching and taking it all in.
