Hello there

I am on my summer break and about to go back for my second year of university, and want to earn a side income. Ideally I want something I only need to spend an hour or two on per day as I have other commitments such as uni work and the gym, so the side hustle will ideally be something that starts relatively small but I can commit more time to and scale it up for greater profit, I am not fussy with what side hustle I do, as long as it has a free or low start up cost and has the potential to be scalable, I would love it if there was an option to make it passive so I can earn money as I sleep (I do obviously realise that nothing is truly passive and still needs some work) I will have spare time to work on a side hustle each day and don't mind if I have to learn a new skill such as coding or web development, but I would prefer it if the side hustle could be started relatively quickly. The main condition is that I can work remotely and that the side hustle gets me the best bang for buck, I don't want to be doing surveys (no issues with surveys, I just feel there's more profitable methods)

Any advice would be appreciated from you all!

Thanks

Hey @benoidy - Great question!

Personally, I would say that either affiliate marketing or online arbitrage (amazon FBA) would meet your requirements well as they both have low start-up costs and have the ability to earn passive income if done properly.

Affiliate marketing:
Essentially signing up as an affiliate for a company / brand and getting people to follow your links to purchase their products. You can do this by posting links in forums or by creating your own content and posting there (such as a blog or social media)

Online Arbitrage (Amazon FBA):
Find online products that are being sold cheaper than they are on Amazon, then selling on Amazon. After you source the product and send to Amazon, they deal with the delivery process to the customer (hence FBA - Fulfilled by Amazon).
Louise from Dad Makes Dough wrote us a great guide to getting started with Amazon FBA, he also has a YouTube channel with instructional vids:

Hope that helps! I'm sure others on the forum will have other ideas too.

Let us know what you decide and how you get on!
