Oooh - got the telly on. What a cracking atmosphere there is at Cheltenham! That roar that went up at the start of the first race - gave me goose bumps! And the welcome from the stands as the winner was led in. It must be really something to be involved.

First blood to the Irish then

Good luck. I don't know enough about horses to comment ;)

Full English football fixture list tonight outside Premiership.

Brentford, Wolves and Leyton Orient (double chance) would be my safe(ish) bet

Derby owe me from the weekend so them and Leicester are worth looking at too.

I should take my own advice. First bet won easily. Derby drew so second one would have lost. Unfortunately I was busy and didn't make the bets

That's horse racing for you Jon and the Cheltenham hill can be unforgiving if your horse doesn't have stamina :(

I don't bet on the big races, but certainly enjoy watching it.

Today's 3.20 World Hurdle meeting @ Cheltenham Annie Power v Big Bucks

Annie Power - Unbeaten in the last 10 races and the excellent Ruby Walsh on board again. Not proven over 3m and may want a bit more cut in the ground than good/gs in places. Current odds 6/4 and that is to short in my opinion and a lay bet should be considered.

Big Bucks - Defeated last time out and lost the unbeaten run of 18 races in a tight contest and came 3rd just 3/4L behind the winner. Goes well on good/gs ground and is certainly proven over 3m. Current odds 4/1 and that is a value bet for me (win only) if you can forgive the last run.

Big Buck's is a gorgeous looking horse - I'll be cheering him home. Faster ground today might suit him - as you say, that race last time maybe too much for him on the heavy ground after a long lay off. It must feel strange for Ruby Walsh riding the rival Annie Power today when he would normally be on Big Buck's - you can tell he's very fond of him.

Go Big Buck's! I don't bet on the horses, but if I had a few quid spare I would back him

Good luck to all the Shed Punters today ;D

The ground should suit him better than the younger and progressive mare Annie Power, but will the Cheltenham hill catch Big Buck's out?

Analysing the race, I think these are the only two horses that can win the race, so do you back Bick Buck's at 4/1 or lay Annie Power at 6/4?

Have actually gone with At Fishers Cross at 8/1

Single (To win) 1 £2.00 15:20 Race winner At Fishers Cross 8/1
Single (To win) 1 £2.00 16:00 Race winner Colour Squadron 7/1

That's a bit skinny for Fishers Cross? Should be at least 12/1 I think!

Jon - Unlucky with At Farmers Cross. McCoy picked the wrong J P McManus horse to ride on again today. Big Bucks was off the bridle half a mile out and was well beaten and Annie Power just didn't have that final piece of stamina up the Cheltenham hill to cope with More Of That. Enjoyable Race :)
