Keep getting 403 errors when I'm trying to run my broken link checker in Wordpress. Anyone know how to get round this? It worked fine last month!

which broken link checker are you using?

Are you saying it can't actually scan your site?

I think it's something to do with the transfer over from Kloudhost as it's all working today!

ah yeah that would make sense!!!

Couldn't get into my webmail yesterday either but can today. It'll be interesting to see what the new host is like.

Well at 6:30am this morning I had no websites but everything was fixed within the hour.

I think migrating ALL the sites from Kloudhost to the new provider there were bound to be a few hiccups but they communicated to me throughout and were talking to me at 7am this morning!!!

What I can't stand and what I used to get from Vidahost/TSOhost was NO COMMUNICATION when my sites would go down with database errors or whatever it was that day. Moving a site like this compared to a regular blog is far more of a headache for them lol

Well after @katykicker advice on yet another 'background' task I should be doing I ran a broken link checker on the blog today (god help me when I do it on the forum!!) and everyone that has shut down their old blogs is causing me a headache now lol

Got 70 of the sodding things I need to now remove or re-link

Well that's all the broken links removed from my blog.

The one thing I will say (and that leapforce has taught us) is that Google sees a difference in a link that goes to a white page with a 'this site no longer exists' type error very differently to a link that goes to somewhere and it has a 'oops this page is no longer here!' which is fully branded and gives other links people could use

I'm not sure brokenlinkcheckers differentiate between the two
