Hello, I recently switched to Bulb energy, they were one of the cheapest options available for me, have excellent reviews and feedback and are 100% renewable energy.

They have no fixed contracts so can leave at anytime, and if your current provider has exit fees they pay these for you!

If you sign up with my code, you will get £50 credit to your account (full disclosure: so will I!) and you can then refer others as well:

Hi @Sirhct,

Ah, I wish I'd seen this earlier.
I've started the switch process (which is smooth & they've kept in touch) and I'm so happy that I don't have to choose between using green, renewable energy and saving money compared to any of the Big 6 (now 5?) tariffs. My old supplier called up trying to win me back, but even with their cheapest 1 year fix they were still £20 a month more expensive!

The £50 referral credit (my code is: bulb.co.uk/refer/jonathan6926) is pretty cool too... it's pretty much a month of free energy for me!

Edit: Before signing up I checked what cashback was on Quidco & TCB (about £25), and then used the more valuable Bulb referral to sign up... However it looks like Quidco have tracked my purchase. I'll report back if they actually pay it!

Important advice before switching

I've recently switched and have found Bulb to be great so far but if you are thinking of switching too, then here’s a tip for you to make sure that you get an accurate quote on their website when you look to sign up.

When you fill in your initial details, it soon comes up with a suggested monthly cost but this is a broad estimate and to get a more accurate figure you can put in your own usage details. In my case this was considerably different, so it could well be worth checking!

To put in your usage figures click on the "Refine your quote" link at the bottom of the page where it says, "Your energy will cost only £xx a month" - that page comes up after you answer a few brief questions about your postcode and size of house.

For me Bulb still worked out to be one of the cheapest - it's green too of course, they pay your exit fees and they also offer £50 discount through a referral link. It was £100 but that was a time limited offer - it's still a great deal though!

I hope you found this tip helpful – if so you can use my referral link below to get the £50 credit when you switch and I get the same credit too. When you’ve signed up, you can then do the same and pass on your link to make even further savings!

Just copy that into your browser and save money!

Good luck and thanks for reading

Yep, I'd agree with Rich's comment.
Just plumbing in my property details and location into Bulb gives a quote of £64 p/m.

Clicking on 'Refine your quote' and entering in my actual usage gave a much more reasonable £47 p/m.

Is it possible to get a cheaper service? Well the Green Site's Cheap Energy tool suggests 'Yes'.

Once you've accounted for cashback &/or referral codes Bulb still comes out on top AND it's 100% renewable electricity.

Simply copy that into your browser and you can get £100 credit

For some advice before switching, please read this below

£100 FREE CREDIT! Sign up with this link and get £100 free credit plus make huge savings on your bills too!

Sign up and get £100 free credit and also make huge savings on your energy bills with this great renewable energy company!

Bulb have doubled the referral reward for the next until Midnight November 20th where new customers will receive £100 free credit on their bill using this referral link:

bulb.co.uk/refer/ashley396

The process is really easy, it will take you through the quote process first so you can see how much you'll save before making the choice to switch and then you'll also receive £100 free credit too

Not only will you also make a huge saving on your annual energy bills (I made a saving of £160+ a year by switching) but once you've joined you can then use your own referral code to get free credit too. It only takes 3 mins to sign up online and they will organise the switch with your supplier on your behalf so you don't even need to pick up a phone (hallelujah! as we all know talking to energy companies on the phone is a fate almost worse than death!) I've never had an easier or more smooth experience when switching a supplier!

  • - Free £100 credit
  • - Make a huge saving on your energy bills
  • - Feel great knowing that all electricity is from renewable sources and that you're using a great customer friendly UK based company - not one of the big money grabbing big four!
  • - Get free credit from your own referrals once you've joined - you'll be able to refer your family and friends straight away once you've joined!

Jebus, this really is this month's 'copy and paste and hope you get a referral' isn't it..

Good luck with that tactic..

Well I see what you mean, but that wasn't my intention starting the thread. And I didn't copy or paste anything.

For me, they were genuinely one of the cheapest on the green site's comparison and with just my own sign up credit they became the cheapest, and their customer service has been good thus far - so if I can get more credit and other people do the same it does seem a win-win to me. But apologies if it seems a bit spam-like, not my intention.

I would still recommend it, and it is £100 credit for the rest of today, £50 beyond that, but I'd recommend checking the green site's cheap energy club and seeing how it adds up. (If you're interested my code is in the top post).

Newbie here. I'm mostly to be found on MoneySavingExpert.com but stumbled across TMS whilst doing some research on Bulb Energy. Rather than just post a referral link and keep my fee to myself, I'm differentiating by offering anyone who uses my link an extra £30 (from the £50 I'd get by referring you), so you get £80 in total, including the £50 you get from Bulb for just using a referral link. Here's my link:

Bulb Energy Referral Link

I'll pay you when the switch goes through by your choice of bank transfer, PayPal, Amazon gift voucher or send you a link to redeem credits into your Amazon account. Thanks in advance to anyone who does so. Just contact me through this website at switch time.

Cheers

Switched to Bulb and save £300 per year compared to my Scottish Power quote.
Also the fact that you're helping the environment by choosing a company sourcing renewable energy is a big bonus, supplying 100% renewable energy and 10% green gas. With a friendly UK based customer call center who answer the phone quickly and don’t leave you waiting for 20 minutes to get through to someone.
Excellent customer service and the cheapest tariff I could find, they even cover any exit fees.
Check out what YOU can save via Uswitch.com. BUT don't click to switch via Uswitch; instead use the referral link at the bottom of my post and Bulb will give you a welcome discount of £50.
Click my link and you will get £50 straight away and if your friends then use your link to switch you will get another £50 for each person who switches to Bulb
Take advantage of a £50 credit to your account when you switch by using the link below, I used a referral link and the credit was applied immediately to my new account as soon as we switched.
Just copy and paste both lines below into your browser:
