I've been thinking about my next business venture, and I think I have the beginnings of it in my mind right now. It would be along the lines of having my own PTC site, so like Swagbucks or Instagc or even BubbleWS.

All I need is a website. Simple enough, right? But it needs to have it's own server to cope with the demand and it would need to be created by a web developer, because it is out of my remit.

I know what I need - something to track referrals, track earnings, let each person have their own profile, having a "liking" system amongst other things.

But how do I start taking this from an idea to something that functions? I suppose my first step would be to speak to a web developer, but I don't want to start a discussion if it is going to be entirely out of my price range. How on earth do I go about finding a web developer?

I read that as Mark is looking for someone to help out his new site, The Rating Website, not offering web development. Maybe I've misunderstood?

He has offered to setup a 'topcashback' style setup around this site but I just couldn't make the system work in my head in regards to the fit on this site when I thought about it...

Sure he would be up for helping install / setup it all on any domain name you may buy. drop him a PM / email

I've been looking at existing sites, and I've discovered that one of them uses Wordpress.

So a little digging and what I want is a "pay per view" plugin. I haven't found one yet, but I'm getting there!

What is it that you want the plugin to do or how do you want it to work?

It doesn't have to be a Wordpress plugin, it can be any script that already exists. I want to create a site like BubbleWS

Some features of the website would be:
Paid per post
A referral system where users earn a certain amount per referral.
A bank system and withdrawal system/shop where the user can choose how much to redeem and how to receive it (Paypal/Amazon gift card).
An error that appears automatically when posts are under a certain number of characters.
Runs reports for users - for example, how many referrals they've had, how many posts they've made, how much they've earned over certain dates, etc.
Automatically deletes a post or comment after a certain number of flags.
Automatically bans a member after a certain number of deleted posts/comments and sends an email explaining why.
User profiles where they can add a photo, link and comment.
A "friending" system.

So finding a script that does some, if not all, of those, is proving hard.

For that level of tailoring you might be better paying out for someone to code it how you want it?

make you money back from moneywithoutajob and then re-invest maybe?

I've posted the job to freelancer, and it looks like the job would cost between £2,500-£5,000.

I spoke to my boss, who runs a comparison website, and he's given me the suggestion of looking for a plugin. I've just come across this http://www.thecrowned.org/post-pay-counter which looks interesting.

£2500-£5000 is a pretty decent amount to invest in a startup investment if you can get the right person.

May be worth taking a punt if you believe in the idea.

How much more do you need to invest in moneyjob thing?

I agree, but the pro version of this plugin is $25, and then hosting (start off with using my GoDaddy hosting and pay for a domain at £10, upgrading to a server as and when needed) is a heck of a lot cheaper.

I don't need to invest any more cash in to MMWAJ.

at those prices then it might be worth splashing the cash and seeing you can manage..

Taking on a 4th website though, you are a right trooper to the ways of online earnings lol

I've installed that plugin on a spare Wordpress site I have, and it is working!

So the next step it so take a step back and breath, and not launch a new website a month after the last. I need to get the name, have a chat with GoDaddy (will they move the site from shared hosting to a dedicated server when it needs it?), research any rules/laws surrounding running this sort of site, come up with a business projection and then start writing my content, such as FAQ and rules.
