Today I signed up to Dooyoo and Ciao and am quite surprised that after writing two reviews earlier, they already have a few helpful ratings each, so I'm going to try and post regular reviews and see how well I can do with it. I have noticed that there are various travel categories such as hotels, attractions, restaurants, etc. I am a regular poster on Tripadvisor and have put reviews from all over the world on there so I thought why not copy some of my reviews on to Ciao and Dooyoo to get myself going. Do you think this would be against the rules? I know its copying content, but it is content I wrote myself so technically not plagiarism. Don't want to go and get myself banned before I even start! ::)

Tricky - I think they would flag it as plagiarism as they won't bother to investigate the source of the original content, plus they might not care even if they do know it was you as it would affect their google ranking negatively.

This is gonna sound harsh but

it's not your site, so why do you care if you copy content across

Give it a go and see if you can earn double the money you would from the same post being on one.

I personally have wrote over 2,000 reviews on Dooyoo I think (check the community pages I was top 10 of all time until I stopped writing there).

I ALWAYS posted my work on Dooyoo AND Ciao. I posted reviews I'd posted on Tripadvisor no problem too.

Occasionally they would have a request on a specific item for it to be a unique view, and I followed the guidelines.

I hope Dooyoo have sorted out their problems now. I stopped churning out 5-10 reviews most days because they were faffing around with paying me, still, I made about £5,000 in the time I was a member so not bad really.

Don't be tempted to post any of your reviews from anywhere else onto Amazon though, as they will just stop you from being able to write reviews and become eligible for the Amazon Vine program - they want unique posts.

So to sum up you should be fine to do it , I always did and I usually just put a note at the bottom saying 'This review has also been posted elsewhere under the same username'. Obviously if your username is different elsewhere you could say what it was.

The T&C may have changed since I last wrote there, around 2 years ago, but I doubt it. Dooyoo has gone drastically downhill since 'updating' their website. They overpaid a load of members, messed up the accounts (when I logged In I saw someone else's account details!!) and then the people who had genuinely earned their money were told they couldn't cash out until they could work out who was owed what, which never seemed to happen. Hopefully you're a newer member and this won't affect you.

I was personally pretty miffed that I'd wrote so many reviews over the years (some with 10,000+ views) only to find that they were treating me like crap when I tried to redeem a £20 gift voucher.I've moved on to better moneymaking ventures now (link to my favourite sites in my signature) so I don't miss the money :)

I would only care if it led to me getting banned! But from what's been said I think it seems OK to give it a go.

Thanks for taking the time to post that info Katykicker, it has made me think twice about investing too much time into it now actually. Maybe I'll just chip away as and when I get a few spare minutes but not make it too much of a priority. What a shame for that to happen after you'd invested so much time into the website. Are you still using Ciao? There are a few sites on your list I'm not yet a member of so will take a look at those too :)

In the good old days when article marketing WAS effective for SEO and rankings I use to post the same articles on sites like Ezine and Go articles without any bother.

If it comes from different URL addresses then technically there SHOULDN'T be a problem and should be indexed and ranked accordingly.

I know for sites like HubPages, they do want unique content.

Academically, you can plagiarise yourself, and be penalised for doing so.
