Hi everyone

I have just read Jon’s new blog post about Crowdville, where you can earn money by testing products and apps etc. It sounds really interesting.

Just wondering if anyone here is already signed up and if they have any useful feedback to report? Such as, have you had many tasks and what was the pay like.

I always like to hear other people’s reviews before blindly signing up to something. Crowdville was set up in Italy and is fairy new to the UK but they have big plans for expansion. There are some reviews on Trustpilot. A few negative ones about payments, but these are from earlier in the year and it seems they have since simplified their payment processes.

Thank you.

Yes, I read on one of the online reviews that they are looking to expand a lot in the UK so now is a good time to get signed up!

I have done the initial registration. Just got the pilot mission to do but I think I might leave that until tomorrow. Got some bets to put on :D

I will feedback once I (hopefully) get going with it.

I signed up when they first launched - I believe they've only had a handful of paid missions so far.

I've done two, and can confirm they pay out fairly promptly through transferwise.

Can I ask what the pay was like? Decent-ish?

Cheers

Thanks for your feedback.

Was the pilot mission easy and quick to do?

edit: also, do they email you the missions or do you have to keep checking availability on their website?

as promised here is the first screener on crowdville for the first client in December
Mission pays £15

I have received an email about it.

Been having a bit of a nightmare completing the pilot mission. As part of it you have to download their app, which I did. However, when I logged into it, I didn't change the language from Italian to English and so obviously everything was in Italian, doh! Couldn’t find any way of changing it so had to delete the app and reinstall. Managed to get it in English now.

Then...their website crashed and now there is a message saying ‘under maintenance, be back soon’. Have all us new members caused it to shut down?!?!?

Anyway, I will try again later and see how I get on. Teething problems, I expect.

Mine has changed to English. I was sent a survey but screened out. I could not see how much they would have paid if I had been the right demographic.

Not sure I like them wanting my NI number. I like my survey shenanigans to go under the radar :)

From them
Crowdville we are regulated by HMRC, as we technically provide jobs we must have users that earn money to provide their national insurance money as a requirement by law. Our users don't just fill out surveys, we employ them to also actively test apps and discover bugs. At the end of the month, we produce invoices to every user that has earnings. They receive their invoice from the 1st of the month, and must accept their invoice by the 5th. HMRC will claim the tax relief which allows us to pay our users 100% of the earnings.

Aye that's fair enough. I think it makes them more legit if anything, but my point stands. I might wait this one out and see if it's worth it.

Yes, I've just signed up and was a bit worried about that. We shall see...

I signed up to them last week, but it just doesn't seem to work for me. I tried to do the initial mission, downloaded the app to my phone as instructed, but when I tried to log in on the app nothing happened. It seems I have no way of moving forward to do any missions or report bugs. I have had a few emails from them welcoming me and that's it. I noticed that several people reported app not working for login on the play store.

Dear god - they need to sort the bugs out on their own app first. On Utest, we'd have been all over this...

Snap. The initial mission couldn’t be completed here neither. I did encounter a message stating words to the effect ‘that my account was still being setup‘. So no luck with Crowdville, at least until they complete the setup on their side.

I've managed to log-into the app, finish my profile and do the test mission - just going to work out what happens now.

Hey Jute, Kenneth from Crowdville here, Im so sorry about your experience with Crowdville, this is not the user experience we want you to have at all!

We have migrated our entire site from Italian to the UK, it was not an easy task but our tech team have done a pretty good job so far. However there are still some bugs as you mentioned.

I personally have spoken to our tech team and put forward the urgency for these bugs to be sorted out. Currently their priority is the website, and this is why at the moment you wont be able to do missions on the app, but you can do them on the website version.

Hey I'm here on The Money Shed forums, and if you have any concerns please let me know, I really want you to enjoy the benefits of Crowdville!

Nice one Jute, glad you were able to make it through.

You know our mission for December is under way! So glad you've found us here from The Money Shed. Get involved and fill out the survey as posted by Jon earlier.
