I signed up the other week, they sent through the documents and it all looks good except… when filling in the profile it asks for some information I’m not too confident about giving. I’m with other sites for surveys and mystery shopping and such but nobody else asks for the NI number. It’s one of those things I get a bit wary of, or maybe I’m just too sceptical about companies! It’s odd too that half the time the site re-routes to a different looking site and all in a different language after I log in. When I can finally get to where I need to be, the profile needs updating in order to apply for any assignments. I noticed this when trying to apply for that task Jon highlighted in the Moneyshed email.

It’s in the profile > Become a Crowder’ section. It wants both NI and photo ID. Now, call me cynical but I don’t feel too comfortable giving them my NI and driving licence/passport…! Any thoughts on why they ask for this or what anyone here thought about having to provide yours? I’ve just uploaded a screenshot here >

Thanks muchly for any thoughts!

From them
Crowdville we are regulated by HMRC, as we technically provide jobs we must have users that earn money to provide their national insurance money as a requirement by law. Our users don't just fill out surveys, we employ them to also actively test apps and discover bugs. At the end of the month, we produce invoices to every user that has earnings. They receive their invoice from the 1st of the month, and must accept their invoice by the 5th. HMRC will claim the tax relief which allows us to pay our users 100% of the earnings.

Hey Caz

Thanks for getting in touch. Glad to have you on board. Yes we ask for NI and photo ID to prove your identity. We ask for NI specifically as it is part of HMRC guidelines that we follow. When we pay you, we also send you an invoice which is part of our approval process when we make payments. It is something that is being rolled out in many high paying organisations i.e. in some of our missions users can easily get paid over £100 per mission. In July we had a user who made £877 from one mission. This is why we are regulated in such a manner.
We have had a thriving UK community of up to 3.5k all who have done this process already and in Italy we have over 60k people who have all done the same.

I understand privacy here is the issue and we follow GDPR with the upmost severity. As mentioned there are HMRC conditioning that we must follow.

The Pilot mission links don't work, they just take you to profile page.
http://bit.ly/pilotmission-bug
http://bit.ly/bugreporting-crowdville
http://bit.ly/pilotmissiongroup

ideas?

also upload id only excepts .pdf, strange.

also community tab gives this error message "Your account on Otium is being configured. Please try later "
Hi UKHope

Thank you for pointing this out. All 3 links are working fine. the pilotmissiongroup link will only work for you if you have opted in to the the pilot mission group, you will then be automatically added to that group and will be able to see the contents of the group, otherwise it will take you to your profile.

The middle link is one that we are fully aware of, although the link works, the contents are missing. this is the bug reporting guide. it used to be displayed, however there have been some updates and our tech team are still working on this, however as busy as the tech team are, the admins of crowdville uk (me) may have to take on completing this task themselves

the first link is the actual pilot mission, you must be opted into the pilot mission to be able to see this page. the actual link that you have shared is the bug testing part of the mission. although it is a pilot mission, it is treated like a real mission meaning, that the contents of that link will not be displayed to the general public.

UKHope please join the pilot mission then all the links will work as they should. To join the pilot mission, once you have logged in, go to your profile dashboard, you can do this by clicking missions, once in the dashboard please click on missions and and the next tab you should click on is upcoming missions and from there you will be able to see all the missions

to you final query, yes at this time we only accept id uploads via pdf, you can easily convert an image to pdf using a convertor online heres a link to one https://smallpdf.com/jpg-to-pdf

thanks for getting in touch, hope this cleared some issues

I'm having exactly the same problems, downloaded the app too and wont let me log in either
Hey Lousie, yes this can happen, the app is currently being developed to now include mission boarding, Look out for an update regarding this.

At this time i would advise you to continue to the website version of crowdville from there you can complete the missions, such as the pilot mission which will help you to understand more how the surveys and app testing works

Also having this same problem with Pilot Mission Links ....
Hi 20andrea.

Thanks for your comment, I have responded to the original message, hope you check out my reply, but in summary, you must join the pilot mission to be able to see the contents of the links, although it is a pilot mission, it is treated like a real mission, meaning that content is hidden from the public and can only be seen by those that have signed up to the mission.

hi kenneth,
thank you for your reply, yes i have joined the pilot mission, it shows in my current - missions tab, not upcoming, but when clicking on - http://bit.ly/pilotmission-bug - this opens up profile page, nothing else.
