Not yet. As I say I'm still testing Etorro with virtual funds before putting money in. I'm down about £150 from last night but that's par for the course and i would expect it to go back up again on past trends. Just read about Crypto kittens (Etherium collectables) https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/5087...ties-cryptocurrency-bitcoin-currency-trading/
Sounds like a crazy idea but people are breeding and selling them lol
wow that article is crazy . didnt know anything about this world .

Thanks for sharing

How's the best way to get started in bitcoin trade or is it not worth it if I have minimal knowledge?

Don't think anyone on here is actively trading it, just bought it and are watching how it unfolds - that's what I did anyway.

The last couple of days have been crazy which has resulted in eToro increasing their minimum deposit to $500.

What wallet is everyone using or are you leaving it all in the exchange?
I've been looking at the Ledger Nano S so I've got a hardware wallet.

Of course as this is TMS I've found a comp to win one of 5: here.

Mine is in eToro (so no wallet) and I bought shares in a company that is looking into blockchain technology.

$500!!! Starting to look like a rich mans game. I might have to seek a cheaper alternative. I looked into buying Etherium yesterday but the minimum amount I could buy was £44 and there seems to be a shortage of sellers, still considering it though as I'd like to have a little Etherium, Ripple & Litecoin. I'd thought that maybe the markets would have settled down a bit but looking at the top 200 coins the majority are still making gains.

Seems to me that the sudden mass interest in Cyrptocurrency has totally swamped the trading platforms & exchanges over the last couple of weeks grinding them to a halt. I sent my verification docs to Bitstamp last week as I wanted to buy a few quid of Ripple but have heard nothing from them.

Agreed. I'm still awaiting my Bitstamp verification too; Kraken is struggling undder weight of traffic to the point that it won't let me past the first page; Gatehub's verification codes don't seem to come through. :(

So it dropped from $19500 to less than $11k on Friday alone. It has jumped up a bit but it does show the volatility of the crypto-currency world.

This is a great idea to put £10 in every week... But personally... I wouldn't spend that in bitcoin... Co sider bitcoin Cash if you are interested in the bitcoin market. This is due to the growth... Bitcoin has slowed down to a quarterly growth of approx 60% whereas Bitcoin Cash is still growing 140 - 300% a quarter!

You then convert your bitcoin cash to currency as it's traceable or back into Bitcoins (at a higher exchange rate this giving you more for your money) and then you sell that.

Personally, I put my efforts in Monero and Fantomcoin... The growth is incredible... Fantomcoin coin is at 4000% a quarter since it launched a few quarters ago and Monero is at 1400% growth... Both very easy to mine and cheap to purchase and store in a wallet and the same applies. You can convert then back into Bitcoin or Bitcoin cash to get your money withdrawn!

I have made £300 this month alone off of 2 weeks of CPU mining and low value cryptocurrency investment.

Do yourself a favour and set a target of how much profit you want to see each day/week and you'll be able to start dealing in the riskier currencies very soon.

Have you bought currency online? I dont want to get involved in the MLM aspect of it and dont want to invest very much either, probably about £100. Would you go for Ffantomcoin or Monero? Also what would I need to do on a daily basis and could I convert it back to cash to withdraw it when I had let it grow enough. Sorry for sounding so clueless. Obviously dont want to make an expensive mistake

Personally when it comes to Ffantomcoin I mine it alongside Monero... Your CPU finds it for you automatically when u mine for Monero.

I haven't purchased either of these two... I purchased some bitcoin a while ago because I am not prepared to gpu or ASIC mine yet. And have recently traded some of the gained value for bitcoin cash which looks far more stable. Ethereum looks good as well but I wouldn't waste your breath on ripple and litecoin.

I am considering buying some Monero because the growth has been good and again you can trade Monero for bitcoin currently.

Try using Minegate. You don't have to mine but it gives you a decent wallet and access to good rates.

Hope that helps

Also, start very small if your going to invest. No more than £100. Buy some bitcoin and then spread the rest across ethereum and Monero. Check the rates online daily for Monero and ethereum whilst this is happening (you can almost just leave bitcoin to do its thing) and if you see growth, calculate your profit and purchase bitcoin with it. Treat it as you would with stocks and shares etc. In terms of buy and sell.

Ripple had a good run over the past week.

@Lazarou316, I'd be interested to know how you are mining Monero and Fantomcoin - from what I have read you need significant computing power for the more well known cryptocurrencies.

As at 2nd Jan 2018 my total investment has been £300 and current profits are running at $613.

Considering the number of XRP available I thought Ripple's run at the end of the year was stonking. @Lazarou316 curious why you're not a fan; is it the lack of options to mine or just that it's not been as popular/profitable?

Oh and has anyone had any joy on getting registered with and money into an exchange?
I'm trying to do it without having to buy BTC first and trading that for altcoins, but struggling.
