I noticed Data Annotation doesn't have its own thread and since I'm trying to get motivated and work more regularly on there I thought I'd start one.
Anyone else currently doing Data Annotation work? It does seem to have fairly regular, well-paying work if you can pass the qualifications although like all this kind of work you're a contractor so there are no guarantees with it.

After having a bunch of the more difficult, boring tasks on DA I finally got some of the image rating ones. They don't pay as well but they're much less taxing.

Do you have a link for the company you use @snowwhyte ?

I did some once but lost the website I used. Might give it another go although I do recall it being quite tedious

Some of the work is boring and complicated and some is easier and more fun. The boring complicated tasks usually pay more to compensate. If you get accepted the work you have access to depends on your experience and which of the different qualifications you pass. There's more variety of tasks than i found on Prolific.

I worked for them for about 6 months and made decent money, but one day they simply cut me off without a word
Some of the tasks were really boring, I tried to alternate between various tasks to avoid burnout.

That is always the issue with these things. Lots of them just end with no notice so you can never rely on them but when you have a regular income with them it's hard not to take it for granted. It's important to always have a backup.

I remember doing the test for these twice and never got a response. Must have spent 4 hopurs on it all together. I think it's really crumby to not even let the person know what happened. After a while in this line of work, you really do start to detest the way these companies operate.

I have an account but never had any work from them. I do keep checking to see if any jobs appeared but nothing so far

That’s normal, having an account doesn’t guarantee work. Keep your profile fully optimized, pass all tests, refresh constantly, and sign up on multiple platforms.
