Thanks ;)

If you wanted to recruit other friends you might have on netmums then that wouldn't be the worse thing in the world ;)

I can spread the word but I had only made the account the day you contacted me :) so didn't have any friends on there so to speak.
I have some real life friends that would benefit from this so will tell them about it. I've already talked about it loads to my mum :D

Thanks for the kind words about the site.

Sure I may have mentioned this before but the reason there is NO spam on this site as appose to say, the green site or others is there I personally manually approve each account.

Checks are made by made by me as to where the person is located, if their signup email address is linked through to any known spam issues and so on.

The downside I suppose is that if you join up say 10pm onwards on a night you will have to wait until the morning until I approve you. But I would much rather keep control of the quality of members we have than open the floodgates and just let everyone register without any checks being done.

This is a good thing, otherwise this happens...

So far I have only been popping on and off the site in my free time.

That said, when I do have some free time it is the first site I open and check for any new threads or continue reading all the ones I have missed.

The feedback from other members has been incredible. I started a thread once on the green site and got 5 replies and all of them impolite!

I've been a member of The Money Shed for about three months and it's one of the best forums I've ever come across.

Most of the things I look for in a forum are on this platform - good members, visible links, good layout and functionality, like minded people, learning tool, educational...........

You have no chance with Netmums. I have even approached the advertising side to see if they will allow it due to the fact that this isn't a parenting site and could help a lot of struggling mum's but I was told no, they would continue to remove posts, links and issue warnings.

Infact here

"Hi Chermaine
Thank you for getting back to me with further details.
I don't really think there is anything netmums can currently do to help you I am afraid.
We do have our own Working From Home forum and whilst we do not allow recruitment we do allow members to share their expereinces etc. Also we dont allow any type of referral schemes on the site so for these reasons you wouldnt be able to promote The Money Shed on the site
I am sorry about this but wish you luck with the venture
Kind regards

You would think the Netmums would allow the TMS link as its supposed to be a `supportive ` website. It makes me a bit cross to be honest.

Oh well, their loss

I hate it here.

;)

No, I don't really. I love it. Except that unlike you, Jon, I'm not in bed at 10pm, I'm now sat up reading all the threads here.

Like I said elsewhere, it's the kind of forum I didn't realise I needed. I've found I'm more motivated to work because I'm more interested in the whole idea of working.

I'm also probably talking nonsense due to being still up past midnight.

I really like it here! :D
I like how I can post a topic or reply and people will actually speak to me! xD

I attempted to start a couple of topics on the green site but because it's such a busy forum most people seemed to overlook my posts. :(

I have been away for a few weeks - not away, away, but just bogged down with work and going on a family holiday, meaning that I haven't had much time to play on the T'Internet recently.

Just wanted to say, that you are obviously making continuous changes to the look and feel of the forum and I always noticed when you would make some changes - just because I have been away for a while all the wee changes now look like 1 big change to me and I think the current look of the forum is AWESOME!!

It does look really good Jon!!

Can I just say, I love it here (my first day) and I felt such RELIEF when I read the blog post about being forced into homeworking. I did actually work from home before but in an employed position, on a good salary, for the same company for almost 19 years. I have just been made redundant and am looking for other work but my partner is out of the house from 7 till about 8.30 almost every day and I have no other childcare. While I will still look for part-time term time jobs, realistically I am going to have to work from home. That blog really made me feel better, so thankyou. :)
