I might have to join this thread.
Just put on my golf trousers for the first time in a year (I only play once a year now as part of an old blokes weekend away) and they are rather tight :(
I might lose the feeling in my legs by this afternoon!

Well my blog, vlog and website are now active! Hoping it keeps me on track.

Today I have done my DDP Yoga, taken my official starting weight and will go do some skipping soon.

I have 25 weigh ins before my birthday which I have set as my main goal date, it's potentially 3.5 stone but I am hoping for more.

I'm hoping to buy a Wii on eBay this weekend. I absolutely loved doing Wii exercise, and it would be great to have something for when I really CBA with the gym.

The blog looks great!

My poor husband is from Portsmouth though he spend most of his life in Waaaaaaaaakefield, since he has been living with me (8.5years) he is slowly losing that posh southern accent and occasionally slips in a bit of Yorkshire twang.

I am sad to announce that I was unable to fit into my golf trousers at the weekend - first time I had put them on tried to put them on for a year.
Where is the "hang your head in shame" emoticon? :-[ will have to do.
I have just asked my Practice Manager to relocate Chambers away from the Greggs "£2 Bacon roll and Coffee deal" ;)

How is everyone doing? (Almost a month no updates).

I yet again fell of the wagon but we had cancelled our WW subscription. I resigned us up to it yesterday referring myself to Topcashback (I have enough emails) and then signing up a fresh account for both so that is £17.50 pending ;D

Yesterday we had a good day food wise and we tackled some of our back garden. Trimming down the hedge, cutting back the rose bush that I swear thinks it's a tree and we took down most of a tree that has been annoying us since we moved in. I now have the job of breaking the tree into smaller pieces and my reward will be that I can have a chiminea so I can burn all the wood ;)

Husband goes on holiday in September and he is determined to drop 2 stone before he goes.

I'm gonna chip in here..

2 stone in 2 months, may be doable, depends on how much of that weight is water retention. That first week or two when you do WW you usually find you drop a crazy amount of weight but it's all water.

If you keep starting and stopping I don't think it matters if you do MFP, Slimming World or WW, if your mentality is such that you can stop doing it so easily that you will never get to what you are trying to achieve.

How much of it is habit do you think? Reaching for food? Comfort eating when bored?

Could you use you Son as an inspiration in that he would much prefer to have 2 healthy parents then ones who might develop health problems later in life. Maybe you also want to set him a good example and this could be a good way of you both doing this. I dunno, as I don't know how he views your/food/dieting. Just trying to find another carrot you can dangle infront of yourself to get you to achieve your goal here.

I think if you could change the way you are thinking outside of 'I just need to diet' then that might have a knock on effect in terms of trying to get what you want to achieve.

When I say stop doing it, it means I just don't track. When I am tracking what we eat we do fantastically but if I'm not tracking we just stay as we are. We're not terrible, we both know what we are supposed to eat and most of the time it is what we do. I tend to pick a lot but if I'm in a picking mood I'll skip lunch so I don't over eat. I'm still over a stone lighter than I was this time last year so that in itself is an achievement.

I also have plenty of carrots dangling, we have been trying for our second child for 4 years and have a target I need to meet this month (looks like I will be). I have a gig to go to, a charity ball and my 30th birthday all things I want to feel comfortable wearing something I normally wouldn't (mainly a dress, not for the gig though).

I have no worries about my son's view on food, we are really good eaters most of the time. He is wonderfully healthy and active, something we have made sure we positively teach him (my parents were frozen meat, beans and chips kinda parents).

We stopped looking at "diets" years ago (I've tried a fair few of them), this really is a tool to help us balance what we eat but it means we don't have to stick to a piece of lean meat, 2 boiled new potatoes and half a plate of veg which soon bores the hell out of us.

2 stones over 2 months for a man is doable as they do lose weight much quicker than women(I used to be a helper years ago for SW on the weighing station)

I have done SW, WW and one or two fad diets over the years(think cabbage diet), hit target, then go back to old ways and then the weight goes back on.

I had to change my diet for certain reasons and I have lost 4 stones over 2 years (could have been more quicker if I had been exercising on a regular basis) by following a low carb, low fat diet(on GP's advice)

I also took a before photo (works wonders ) to look at whenever I felt like ''blowing it'' - might work for you if you take a picture and stick it on the fridge or the cupboard of where you ''slip up''.

I took an after photo a couple of months ago and felt so pleased with myself (could see a huge difference) that I felt confident enough to post them on facebook (I hardly post pics of me online but felt so good with the difference)

Agree with Jon about the way of thinking, think of it as a life style change, not as'' Im on a diet'' - good luck :)

I have a before video ;)

I had lost almost 2 stone in March but we had a really bad few months (lost mother-in-law) where we didn't want anything but comfort food so I regained then but haven't really gained for the past month so I just need to start watching again.

What I need to do is remember to do my Vlog, that is the only thing that kept me motivated until the big slip up but things keep getting in the way on my Friday mornings, like friends coming over for coffee or trips to the theme park haha ;)

As for fads, I have tried almost all of them...Cambridge/Exante/Kee, Cabbage soup, Army, Egg and Grapefruit, 5:2, Atkins... ::)

Sorry about your mil, I was the same when I lost my mother 5 years ago and other stresses in life. So much easier to grab something junky on the way to the hospital or on the way home rather than having the time to cook something decent.

You have done really well, you know you can do it , keep tracking and you will get there :)

I've not been doing so well these last few weeks. I get very painful knees from time to time that stop me moving around so easily. I've been to the doctor so many times about them over the years but finally yesterday i saw a different doctor who is sending me for an MRI, hopefully I'll finally know whats causing the pain! :)
