I can see this might be worthwhile when I have a bank of £1000 plus or so but to begin with I expect I'll be making losses on the monthly fees if I use both?

Only from an affiliate point of view as OddsMonkey want you to be a paying member to affiliate with them

Otherwise, no I wouldn't

I see, I haven't looked into oddsmonkey yet as I'm working my way through PA, but don't you need to pay the fee to have access to the full range of tools/forum etc?

yup

imo there is no need to have both however nothing stops you cancelling one and going to the other one and then paying for a month there if you are that interested

or you could use our £1 for 7 days premium access offer on the page below and take a look that way

For a long time I operated without either PA or OM but looking back that was a silly move. When my 0% Matchbook offer expired Smarkets and OM announced their 0% deal which is possibly worth the subscription to me itself.

OM forum is brilliant for offers.

Realise this wasn't your question but my point is OM is good. :D

what made you decide to do that just out of interest?

At the beginning I did use both. PA was good for hand holding you through the offers, but the Oddsmatcher was rubbish and the OM one was far superior. Nearly 2 years in I now only use OM as the tools and forum are much better than PA (and it costs less)

If you join OM I believe your monthly fee on sign up remains unaltered for life as long as you maintain paid membership. Don't really know much about PA to be able to comment.

I only use PA and have made great profits and they've been helpful if I've had questions.

Do they automatically renew or do you pay separately each time? From what I've read it seems I'll use PA until I get a good balance and then switch to OM. My experience so far is that it's more of an administration/organisation test than anything else.

It’s just a PayPal direct payment so you can cancel at the PayPal end at any time

At the beginning I did monthly and did separate payments (I dislike auto-renewals - but that is just personal preference), then when I was happy I moved to the yearly OM sub as it was cheaper and you then can use the auto refresh feature on the Oddsmatcher.

You only need to join one, but just to throw a curveball in - have you looked at matched bets? I haven't used them myself but they are cheaper than the other two and may be worth considering. Some info about them here and I understand the guy who wrote the review is usually pretty reliable. ;)

Which site do you think is the best for the exchange? I can only afford to have betfair as my bank at the moment but obviously they charge the highest commission. They are however the most well known and tend to have better odds. I've just fallen into that annoying occurrence where my free bet on a massive outsider has won and therefor my betfair balance on the lay has been virtually wiped out. I am now waiting for all the bookies withdrawals to hit my bank, which is a bit disorientating. Just hoping I have enough come in to have a decent bank for Saturday.

If you are not with OM or PA and had to pick one then I would go with Smarkets. They generally have more markets. Eventually you will get OM or PA and have enough money to have accounts with Smarkets and Matchbook. For me one week's worth of 0% on SM and MB is enough to justify the OM sub on its own.

I'm with PA for at least one more day, at which time I'll probably switch to OM. PA has many plus points but I find the forum layout a bit old hat, and not the easiest to navigate.

All that matched betting services seem to use The same self managed Wordpress plugin style forum rather than a feature rich one like we use on here

I suppose they just want a solution for their customers that offers little overhead and lets them chat to each other
