It's definitely harder than it was in "the old days" but I have had a couple of wee wins and I'm delighted! Whereas in the past I was entering EVERYTHING, whether or not I wanted the prize, now I'm not. For example, we've got three kids so there's no point in me entering a "family holiday" competition with accommodation for 4 as we couldn't use it.

I had a letter yesterday with a pair of tickets to the Glasgow knitting/hobbycrafts show at the beginning of March which I'm delighted with. I also won £50 in vouchers to spend at the Glasgow Christmas market back in December and got some lovely meringues, cheese, oatcakes and other foodie treats. Also in an advent competition I won some venison chorizo and other meat-y products which we devoured over the festive period. The weirdest "win" was two bone china cups with matching saucers - not my thing at all, but they were valued at £150 for the pair. They are still in the box, at the back of my wardrobe because my 9 year old says she is taking them on Antiques Roadshow after I die. :-\

Trying to get back into comping again as I had some nice wins last year. Entered 50 today, so going to aim for that daily. I try to avoid Facebook and Twitter as I dont have much luck!

50 a day seems like a nice aim.

When I am having a boredom moment rather than browsing the Daily Fail website I just enter a few competitions. My best win... £5,000 cash a couple of years ago! Was weeks before our wedding and VERY handy.

Well done on the wins. Well, except the cups. I used to hate winning things like that - always saw it as a waste of a win, if I was going to win one thing per 1,000 entries, or whatever, that was the one and pretty much every other thing I'd entered to win was a better prize. I'm an ungrateful so-and-so though haha.

I'm getting back into it now that I've got a bit more free time on my hands.

Best wins we've so far over the years (funnily enough none from on-line comping):

A week's holiday in Morocco from MyTravel for filling in the in-flight questionnaire (yes, people do win those things!)
£1000 from a phone-in general knowledge quiz on local radio station (it went un-won for about three months, I wish the prize had rolled up like it does on Pointless!)
A guitar amp from an in-store draw in a local shop (sold on gumtree for a couple of hundred quid)

My other half spends about half an hour each evening going through Loquax, but has handed over responsibility to me - I think all he's won in the last year has been £100 in USC vouchers (for him) and a lovely bottle of port (for me). I go for holidays, cash, vouchers, and anything I think I can sell on eBay.

Hehe, it took me a little while to realise what people here meant by "the green site". I even googled it, until I realised I actually knew what it was ;D

I had a comping phase about 5 years ago and blitzed everything in sight on Prizefinder for 3 months or so. The only thing I won was a hideously spammed email account.
