Does everyone trust contactless payments now then?

I trust them and use them for the majority of my payments. I just keep an eye on my statements for anything dodgy.

Everyone's see the viral videos of the guys nicking 30 quid by scanning your pocket. How true that really is though i'm unsure.

I was laughed at for suggesting it might have been made by one of those companies selling the wallets which block contactless payments.

I see it as a migration of cash being phased out, and the powers that be knowing exactly what you spent your money on, no more cash jobs etc so the gov know exactly your incoming and outgoings - and how much tax you re suppose to pay!

I agree. I don't have a problem with the technology, per se, but I dislike the general travel of direction.

(I'm fine paying my due tax, but no gov't needs to know the precise details of my personal transactions!)

oh yes I should say I'm fine with paying what tax is due but it will stop cash jobs are they are virtually impossible to account for (currently having my roof replaced as a cash job) but paying by cash is virtually impossible to trace which I can see is a problem if they are trying to catch tax cheats
