Someone may a comment on my blog earlier today about what's trending on Twitter and it made me think. How many of the things that are currently trending are actually being talked about outside if the internet? I.e. in conversations at the workplace, the gym, coffee shops or the pub? Is the internet actually in fact giving us a false view of what's important to people today? A quick check on what's trending on Twitter and it appears to be all TV programmes!

I think there is a HUGE disconnect

Like you I work in 9-5 world and in the online self employed world and people who don't run blogs / social media accounts don't care about ANY of the stuff you see on Twitter etc.

No Drama, No Urgency, no fear of missing out on something happening online... It's far better imo to just be ignorant of the whole thing to a certain degree.

The Internet is like those Round Robin Christmas letters you used to send. Its about emphasising/exaggerating the positive and ignoring the negative. I take a lot of what people say with a pinch of salt. Its a bit like if you ever talk to someone with a gambling addiction. They never shut up about a big win but you'll never hear how much they have bet over a weekend/week - just the win when/if it comes.

I pride myself that my reviews on my blog are my honest thoughts. My Cashbacks/deals are stuff I've done myself and know work. The only thing the blog doesn't get is the boring stuff. Although, I've got a great feature that I want to get on which some people might find boring and that is part of what excites me! :D

This x1000

It was only when you have to work on the social media side of things all day every day that I became aware of this as you are just ENDLESSLY looking at amazingly taken / positive photos the entire time and you either become completely numb to it or it ends up winding you up and kicking in the dreaded comparison syndrome!!

Instagram is not the sort of photos that you used to take on your Camera and pay £12 to get developed in Boots over 4 working days!

Twitter is just a case of 'who can be outraged first!' a lot these days I find...
