Buying a new phone can be stressful and can drain out your pocket. Well you can be smart and go for pre owned phone that offer you great value for your money. With a little bit of looking you'll be able to find great options in great condition. And then once you're done you can re sell it. There is always someone out there that is looking for a phone. Instead of spending a lot on a new phone. Buy pre owned and keep changing so you're not bored of your old phone and so that your investment is safer as it doesn't depreciate as much as a new phone in value

It is always worth to check facebook market first, you can make huge savings there. For example you can buy brand new, sealed Iphone X for £750-£800 and preowned for £650. I think market is now more popular than gumtree.

I am building up to getting a new phone. I bought a second hand iPhone 5 and it’s lasted 2 years. The battery can now hardly last through a phone call and the storage space is almost full. I do feel that they are over-priced and my question is, is there anything you can do on an iPhone that you can’t do on an android (matched betting, money earning apps etc)?
Thanks for any thoughts

Ok thanks. I’ll probably look for another second hand one. The batteries are always the failing though.

You can buy a powerpack on Amazon to plug in and keep it charged all day :)

I'd reccomend looking at refurbished ones on Ebay and amazon as well as most come with a 12 month warranty

I'd die at the idea of spending £500+ on a new phone. My last phone cost £40 from ebay, lasted 18 months until it fell out of my pocket while on my bike and got run over by a car. By comparison, my current phone I paid a fortune for: £60. Again from ebay. Had it a year so far and would expect to get another year out of it at least.

Apple have had to drastically reduce the prices of batteries after the scandal of how they slow down old phones, might be worth just replacing the battery.
Also spare 5 is iOS only.

Personally, I spend £600-£700 on an iPhone, for work purposes anyway, my other phone is just a bog standard cheap one.

Each 2 years I sell the phone, for around £300, so I've spent £16.66 a month to have access to all the latest apps, a fast phone and I can work on the go. Well worth the money for me. I buy outright though and I have a sim only deal (free atm)

If you want a cheap Android phone for apps I recommend a Vodafone smart 7 first it's £17 brand new on Amazon. A rubbish phone but will run shopprize curious cats, panel app, ember meter perk TV and applike so ideal for just earning money with.

yeah my iPhoneX and it's £1000 price tag say 'Hi' lol

like @katykicker though mine is a 'work tool' more than anything.

I need the decent camera for online stuff and I need a phone that is quick enough for me to for me to do back end stuff on TMS while on the go!

Oh, thanks for the helpful replies. I’ve had a few weeks off with flu. Just picking back up in time for Cheltenham!

Whilst doing a recent run of app tasks in phone shops.. i got surprisingly turned on to the Huawei Mate 10... i have only bought latest Samsung for past several years... this is half the price of an S8 has better camera and insane battery life (about 6 times my S7) has a faster processor and Huawei apparently make all the bits for Iphone and Samsung... so am seriously considering getting one and leaving Samsung

Ok thanks. I’ll probably look for another second hand one. The batteries are always the failing though.

Some ways to improve battery life.
• Make sure you turn background app refresh OFF.
• Always close your apps once you’re finished with them!
• Try to only use the chargers the phone came with, don’t buy cheap ones online as they can harm the battery itself.
• One of the hardest to do, DONT leave your phone charging all night. Charge it before you sleep to 100% then take it off charge.
• If you use Snapchat a lot, try not to, it’s one of the worst apps for using battery.
• Often check the amount of battery apps are using, in order to know how much to use an app and when to close it.
• Ensure you put your phone (if iPhone) on battery saving power mode.
• DONT leave your data on all day, it’s SO draining.
• Buy a power bank to help recharge your phone whenever you go, again make sure to use an official charger rather than a cheap online one!

I hope this helps!
