Dormant / Inactive Accounts with Bookies thread

Hi everyone :)

I thought it might be a good idea to post a thread on how Bookies treat accounts that they deem to be 'Dormant' or 'Inactive'. People may not be aware that some Bookies charge a monthly fee if you have not used the account for a few months, and have money still in there.

*PLEASE NOTE: this is a general guide only and it is up to YOU to check the current terms and conditions for EACH Bookie as t&c's can vary, and are often updated.
Errors and omissions excepted.

Below are a list of Bookies and my findings. Please fee free to add your own, or comment on any errors or updates:

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website and using the Services for 365 days, your account will be deemed as Inactive.

Admin fees of £5 per month of inactivity will be taken from the balance.
Once there is no balance, the account will be closed.

They WILL email beforehand to warn that charges will be starting (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website for 6 months, your account will be deemed as a Dormant account.

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website for 18 months, 188Bet reserve the right to transfer any remaining funds as a donation to nominated charities.
Once there is no balance, the account will be closed.


They will contact you before closing the dormant account (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website and using the Services for 12 Months, your account will be deemed as a Dormant account.

They will contact you before it becomes a dormant account (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).
Once the account is dormant, any balance will be suspended, to keep it safe and secure.

You can log in or contact them to restore the account, and get access to your money again.

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website and using the Services for 12 plus Months, your account will be deemed as Inactive/Dormant.

Admin fees of £5 per month OR 5% of the balance (whichever is greater) will be taken from the balance.

They WILL notify you of this charge before the first payment is deducted.
Your account can be reactivated by making a deposit, withdrawal or bet.

You CAN withdraw any funds which you are entitled to and can reactivate your account at any time.

Any funds WILL BE REMOVED, if you do not log into your account within 14 Days after this contact.

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website and using the Services for 12 Months, your account will be deemed as Inactive.

They will email you on the 12th Month and you will have 30 days to log in to your account. If you do not log in within the 30 days, money will be deducted from your cash or bonus account.

Admin fees of £5 per month of inactivity will be taken from the balance, starting on the 13th Month.
They will send a reminder email every month and a monthly charge of £5 will be deducted.

The monthly inactivity fee will be incurred until the next log in happens, when the operator will be entitled to block the account.
If the account remains inactive for 12 months and the account balance is £0.00, no further charge will be incurred.

They will email beforehand to warn that charges will be starting (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

If you log in before the account becomes Dormant, the admin fees will stop.
You can also contact Support to request a full refund of these admin fees.

If the account becomes Dormant and you cannot be reached, they are entitled to transfer any balance to the relevant regulatory body.

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website for 12 Months, your account will be deemed as Inactive.

Any funds in the account will no longer be classed as 'User's Deposits' and so will not be protected.
They will be immediately available to you for withdrawal or to use on the Service.

Once you log back into the account, they automatically become 'User's Deposits' again (so not sure how withdrawing them works?)

They will email to let you know your account is now dormant/inactive (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

If you fail to reactivate your account within 28 days of their notification email, then you will be charged an admin fee of £5 per month OR 5% of the balance (whichever is greater).

Once the balance reaches £0.00 then no further fees will be deducted. They may then close the account.

If your account is reactivated, it is up to BetVictor whether they decide to refund any fees, and they will not enter into any correspondence regarding this.

After 30 months the account will be deemed as Dormant and will be locked. If any balance still remains, Betway will attempt to contact you to return it (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

If they are unable to contact you, any remaining monies will be removed from the account.

If you fail to reactivate your account after 28 days of their contacting you, then you will be charged an admin fee of £2 per month OR 5% of the balance (whichever is greater).

These fees will continue until the account is either reactivated, or the balance becomes £0.00 and it is then closed by Bet365.

If you reactivate the account, the admin fees will stop.
You can also contact Customer Services Department to request a refund of the admin fees.

After no less than 24 Months, they can close the account and remove any funds in it.

They WILL try to contact you before removing any funds though (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

Your account can be reactivated by making a deposit, playing any game/bingo, or placing a bet.

If you do not access your account by logging onto the website and/or using the Servicesfor 400 Days, your account will be subject to dormancy fees.

They will contact you to let you know your account is now dormant before any fees are deducted (obviously your contact information/email details need to be up to date for this).

Admin fees of £5 per month OR 5% of the balance (whichever is greater) will be taken from the balance.
Once the balance falls below £5, then the entire remaining balance will be deducted and the fees will stop.

If you reactivate the account by placing a real money stake, the admin fees will stop.
Coral may need to perform additonal safety checks first on accounts that have been inactive for a while.

Genting will make reasonable efforts to return any balances to you. If this is not possible, they will be retained by Genting.

You are entitled to request the return of any funds from them.

The fee shall be deducted on the 1st calendar day of the month AFTER your account became an Inactive Account, and thereafter on the 1st day of each month.

These fees will continue until the account is either reactivated or the balance becomes £0.00.

If you reactivate the account, the admin fees will stop.

An inactive account may be closed when the balance has been reduced to £0.00 for 6 months.

Annoyingly I got them all typed out with the bookie names in a bold red colour but then hit a 1000 word limit, and had to list them in blocks. Will try to update at a later date to make them stand out better.

Have now updated them to make them easier to read. Always double-check the t&c's yourself with the Bookie though too :)
