Hello
I am gradually getting a bit more content on my site about local properties (been doing this every now and then for morths but finally getting some time on it over the last few months). Ive submitted URLS to search console/request indexing. My concern is this;
Ive integrated woocommerce so it has a shop element - the 'products' are houses for sale with local agents (got 'add to basket' switched off).
Ive also got a blog section and the same properties and written content are in the blog category.

Will googles crawl thingy get confused and banish me to the furthest end of the web for ever because the content is exactly the same on 'product' as it is on 'blog'?
Should I just submit the URL of each blog post instead of shop products?

Is it word for word the same or just a few paragraphs that are similar

I'm thinking may be better to just put a short description on 'product' with a link to the blog post about each product/property

Interesting that you're using Woocommerce for the house listing - Is there a reason for that? Are you going to be using house selling affiliate links which put the viewer through to the agency selling the property?
yes affiliate links or eventually, charge the agent per property for a shop space. Ive used woocommerce because I want a shop type layout.

I don't see it being a major issue to be honest.

You mentioned above about submitting each individual URL to google but you should just be submitting the sitemap

Oh.. yeh Ive done a sitemap but submitted it prior to several new posts. Does individual url submission carry any adverse effects?

Google won't banish you for duplicate content. However, each place in the search results can only be taken by one page, so it makes sense that you let Google know which page you would rather it show.

You can do this by adding a 'Canonical' meta tag to the duplicate pages (but not the primary page). So if you'd like the pages in the 'shop' to take precedence, add a Canonical meta tag which includes its full URL on the corresponding blog page.

I notice that you're using Yoast - IIRC you can add Canonical meta tags in Yoast settings for each page/post.

Google will, in time, start ignoring the blog pages with the Canonical tags in favour of the corresponding Shop pages.
