I have just started to explore Dutching as a way to make money. I have been trying to get odds that work I have found that using the under / over eg. 2.5 goals on a football match is possibly the easiest bet to make, but I have found that on the exchanges the lay odds are most likely to make a profit. I am doing this as a hobby not major income maker, any advice or possible pitfalls for this strategy Thanks

Is your dutching strategy intended to: a) fulfil the wagering requirements for a Stake Returned bonus, or b) as a possible money-making strategy?

I'd say that dutching online bookies is ok for option A, but you're still taking value and more likely to get restricted. Option B isn't a big money maker really, as you'd need to get huge stakes on.

Big money making isn't really the goal. I have a bank roll of about £1000 as long as I don't lose, I'm happy I have done matched betting but would prefer not to have to rely on free bets. I realise to make "real" money this way takes high stakes

I just think you'll be on a fast track to gubbing because you'll be taking out of line odds. I don't see much value, unless you're using dutching to complete bonus wagering. You'll be needlessly sacrificing accounts for a few quid profit.

@rninja is right. At the end of the day, its just a different flavour of arbing, so you'll likely to quickly get restricted by how much you can get on. Maybe inplay will help stay under the radar but the odds move so fast you'd have to be quick.

I guess you could dutch the 2up offer between two bookies. Or, if you found a bookie shop boost and dutched it. Or dutching all horses in an extra place race.

What would happen if I stuck to the exchanges? and used lay bets only
Sorry, I don't understand. Surely to dutch you'd need to back bet between different bookies.

If you mean placing lay bets only, then that would be a lay betting strategy (which would only make sense if you identified a mathematical edge against the 'wisdom of the crowd' on a betting exchange).
