Has anyone had any experience/success from creating your own ecommerce site just for reselling goods as a supplier?

Ecommerce site creation seems straightforward and then I guess it's just registering as a business for tax purposes and buying stock from manufacturers?

I've seen LOADS of people use the likes of Woocommerce or Shopify (which seems to be simpler to set up!) to flog their stock.

SEO is of course a very important factor when it comes to the listings but i seems like it can really pay off.

Is there a financial advantage to you doing things this way over say flogging on Amazon / eBay

I'm still looking into this l, my partner is a Web designer so I'm not really worried about the creation part of making a site, I think advantages are not having to pay those ridiculous ebay fees that I've seen when I've sold a few things in the past, I don't know, I'm sure this is just something that I will plan and never see through!

One thing with WooCommerce is, say I have 10 of a product, I can fit 4 in an envelope but if you buy 5 I'll have to use a box which ups the price interns of shipping but there's no easy way to du this on WooCommerce. And there's "standard shipping," not shipping on each product page.

I started using payinsider.com recently to track extra earnings from my store's affiliate links and referrals. It's helped me stay on top of what's working without needing to dig through loads of reports. It’s been good for keeping my side income more organized and seeing which promos are worth keeping.

I started by listing everything I needed to make the product and worked backwards from there. Having a clear Bill of materials made it way easier to track costs and reorder supplies without guessing. It also helped me spot where I could save money. I didn't realize how useful that would be until I had to scale up and things got chaotic without proper tracking.
