Yes that's right, the assignments are academic so our writers need to be qualified to degree level in the subjects they are writing about or researching.

So I have a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology

Would you let me write in both business and ICT or how would you decide or is that something I am able to choose or are you just assigned work?

When your application is successful our researcher relations team (the people that look after our writers) will assign you subjects based on your skills and qualifications. Assignments are then posted to our researcher control panel and you can bid for assignments in your subject area :)

Can you talk a bit more about this bidding system and how it works? Are we talking about a PPH type setup behind everything once you get accepted?

I have a 2:1 in Computer Games Technology, do you get assignments in this field? As its more narrow than say a History degree.

What are the sort of time restrictions on the assignments?

I have to say that the small print of the website hints strongly at people being paid to write papers for students - is this legit? Shouldn't they be doing their own research? Isn't that one of the skills that they should be developing for themselves? Is this not just rich kids paying people like us to do their work while they spend more time in the pub?

I am happy to be corrected, but this is my initial impression.

Agree with above poster - I have a degree in Marketing and Spanish and writing experience so might be the sort of person you're looking for, but I think it's morally wrong to do other students' assignments for them!

However you dress it up as providing a "model answer" on which people can base their answer it's just not right.

And you can bet it won't be the working class kids stumping up £100 a go for someone else to do their assignments for them. They will be staying up until 2am doing it themselves after a 6 hour shift at the local pub.

Exactly. I could never have afforded to pay someone else to do my work for me at Uni. Universities are wise to this sort of thing and have all sorts of software to detect it too. My degree was quite "niche" - there were only a dozen of us in my Honours Spanish group - and an essay written by someone else would have stood out a mile as the lecturers knew my style, phrasing and tone.

The fact that there are variable rates of pay dependent upon the degree classification value of the work makes it look even more obvious?

What about it ;) if anyone thinks I played games for 3 years they'd be waaaaay off!

On the moral note - I agree, I pulled all nighters to get my 2:1 and if I knew someone achieved a first for paying someone else to do their assignments then I'd feel a little more than just put out.

Although they'd soon get the boot from their job when they can't prove their worth.

Don't worry Kelly, I spotted the word "technology" rather than "playing" in the degree title.

I did Spanish too at uni. We were a very small group on the single language honours. 6 of us IIRC. I did the first two years, then went off to Spain for my Erasmus year, met someone there (now my husband) and never returned to complete the degree. Got awarded a Dip HE in Spanish instead for my efforts, and topped up my degree to a BSc (Hons) International Studies. Got a 2.1 too which is something I'm still in shock over.

Years ago I did two years of a Psychology degree...

But anyway. That rate of pay is good. I don't know about the morals... heh, I've helped my sister, a friend, etc write countless essays. :-X

Well this won't be the first time I have had to address this issue and it won't be the last. As a company we have tried tirelessly to regulate the industry we are in, but no one was interested I'm afraid. As a UK based company we take what we do extremely seriously and our writing and research is provided with very clear terms of use. One of my colleagues in the researcher relations team has put this all far more eloquently then me :) http://www.academicknowledge.com/ethics.php

We have quite a few writers and researchers that make a good living from freelancing with us. Our rates of pay are some of the best in the industry and we have a team dedicated to looking after our writers.

The bidding system has changed recently so that now some assignments are a simple fixed fee and you can simply view the brief and apply for it. Some are done on a bidding system (not so many now, most are fixed fee) whereby you post the fee you would charge for the work and the work is assigned to the best fee/qualified researcher.

We offer a great way to work from home, at times that suit you and at good rates of pay. You can give our team a call before you apply, they are always happy to help and answer any questions you might have - http://www.academicknowledge.com/contactus.php
