Has anyone ever dumped any of their unused domains on Sedo for Parking?

I've got a fair number of domains that I do nothing with and just own so I'm quite up for a way I can at least earn money from them before I decide what to do with them!

Parking used to cover my domain portfolio renewal fees.

Now? Lucky to get pennies. Parked domains rely on type-in traffic in an age of searching. And adblockers diminish what little type-in traffic parked domains get.

You might get some residual income if your domain gets traffic (e.g. if it has a sizeable and relevant link profile). Doesn't take long to set up so worth a punt.

How many domains did you park to cover your renewal fees back then?

Yeah I figured they rely on type in traffic so in that case would buying the likes of ebat.com googel.com bbv.com work out the best going after the 'fat fingers' crowd so to speak!

At one point I had about 1000 domain names. They were almost all co.uk and the renewal cost back then was £3, which was covered by parking revenue.

It was a cheap way to hold domains until I either developed them or sold them.

I'm down to around 500 names now. Nominet hiked renewal fees a few years ago so holding domains can get expensive. I'll be offloading more or developing advertising/lead gen microsites before they expire.

.co.uk's are pretty easy to track. You can register an account with Nominet and view all UK domain names associated with your email address. Within the Nominet panel you can sort by name, exp. date etc, and export to CSV.

Never actually *buy* from Nominet unless you are a tag holder though (much more expensive). And if you want to transfer your domain or change ownership details, see it your registrar will do it to avoid Nominet's fee.

Any others (com, net, org etc) I just track in a spreadsheet.
