I have just had an e.mail from GFK that they are looking for more people to mystery shop banks. You must have an account with their client or one of its competitors. A lot of the jobs are mystery telephone calls. You need to make an audio recording on your phone about your experience and submit it with your report but it would be easy to make £25.00 in an afternoon as I did yesterday if my reports are accepted.

Is there a limit to the number of these you can do if you have accounts with lots of different banks?

I only got information for one bank as I bank with their client and I was limited to 3. One check was just phoning up to ask for my balance, another was visiting a branch and depositing a cheque.

Thanks @fraserbooks I've just signed up. Can I ask what you use to record the calls, I'm having trouble finding a decent app that doesn't cost the earth.

When I’ve done calls for them before, you ring a particular number given to you, enter your assessor ID, then it connects you through to the company you’re shopping, and the recording is done through that, so nothing extra is needed.

Thanks @BreeziOG I turned one down recently that required you to have your own app but have done one before where you dialled a number first so that's great :)

For these you don't need to record the calls as banks do that automatically. I just used the voice recorder on my phone to record a few comments about my experiences and submitted it as an audio file. Normally for GFK you dial a special number as Bresigog says. They do listen to it as I have had queries back. I use my phone log for timings. Another good thing is that banks don't allow photography. For the branch visits you need to withdraw some money to prove you have visited the right branch and submit a photo of the receipt.
