What video editors do those that do you tube videos use? Do you use a free one or pay for one? Looking for something simple so my 6 year old can join in.

You can start with free ones - iMovie (this channel is edited with iMovie: https://www.youtube.com/user/hattantimes) is a good choice on the Mac and there's Windows Movie Maker on Windows (haven't used this in years though so not sure what it's like nowadays).

You can always graduate to the more pricey software later like Final Cut Pro on a Mac and Premier Pro (PC and Mac) but when starting out probably won't need the extra features they provide.

It can be done on a smartphone - this channel is filmed and edited entirely on a phone (they use an Android App called Kinemaster) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5w-zgksiAzee05YOzLYzQA

I just did this on my mobile with inshot, It is not great as just practising and excuse the portrait mode. Just using videos I already had on my phone. It is my son.

I would rather edit on my laptop.

Another question.. should I delete my practise videos, or keep them up?

I know what you mean - I've tried on my phone and don't get on with it, I use iMovie personally.

I think it's personal preference what you leave up and take down (others may have other ideas though), if you want to keep them for reference you can always make them private so only you can see them.

P.S I liked your practice video - I didn't know Disney Springs had these kinds of fountains (showing how I live my life through others Disney vlogs hehe)

I currently use Lightworks but it's very basic for the free version. I'm umming and ahhing about Adobe Premier Pro, and have been for a while, so I'll probably upgrade to that at some point this year.

Windows Movie Maker doesn't exist anymore unfortunately and that was a great piece of free software.

I have downloaded Movie maker 10 on my laptop and not finding great, it has pauses between clips so doesn't flow well and looks choppy.

iMovie is great if you have a Mac. It's a stripped down free version of Final Cut Pro basically with all the optimisations that make Final Cut so fast.

There are lots of options out there, just try and get used to filming in landscape rather than portrait! ;)

The price is justified. It's even further optimised than iMovie and blazingly fast compared to Adobe Premier Pro. iMovie is good for starting out but £300 for a full license for Final Cut is money well spent if you were seriously into video editing.
