Got my training on Thursday. Apparently I have to be trained to use a tablet. This is going to be fun...

I did my training. Putting the tablet on a stand and turning it on took 20 minutes.

They put out biscuits though so not all bad :)

How did it go with voters needing ID?
As far as I know everything went OK (but then I was dealing with this in the backend / ICT side of things)

Our election didn't finish until around 6am lol

Time to give this thread a little bump. I received an email today from my local Council to enquire if I'm interested in working on next year's local Council elections on May 2nd. Now that's what I call forward planning!

I know that having dodged a bullet last year, my local authority will be taking part in the voter iD trial this year. Which on one hand will be a pain, but on the other hand, we'll be getting paid a bit more for.

No mention of the impending General Election/People's vote though...lol!

My local council have also asked for my availability. Too busy now to take a day off to Poll Clerk but I've signed up for counting.

When does this start happening? I can't seem to find any adverts online and is it county council or Borough councils that will be advertising?

Thanks!

Think I'll give this a go this year, though there's currently nothing online about jobs in North Tyneside - any ideas when/where I should look?

I would think they would appear in Feb / March at the latest

Well since this is the first time for 10 years I won't be working on an election I've only just noticed we are hitting 'critical time' for anyone looking to apply and earn money during this years election period!

It's easy money (if not slightly mind-numbing!) for just 1 days work!

Still keen to do this but I can't find ANYTHING on my local council website about it
