I have looked on my council website - Epping Forest, but can only find full time job listings.

Are you only allowed to apply for your local council? If not, I guess I could look around London.

Fantastic! - Really pleased to see people getting work (and money!) from this!

If you can get involved on the Count on the night that starts around 10pm do that as well

I emailed Worcester Hub about it and they directed me to the Jobs & Careers and Electoral Services sections of www.worcester.gov.uk but I couldn't see anything there.

I might apply to Wychavon too: http://www.wychavon.gov.uk/temporary-jobs

Camden told me their internal campaign last year was very successful and suggested I'd apply to other councils. Islington thanked me for the application - neither 'yes' nor 'no'. I'm going to look for a couple more and drop them an email / fill out form.

Application posted off. Fingers crossed!

The info they sent had a closing date in February but they must still have some openings. Must remember to look into it a bit earlier next time :)

Re: General Election 2015 - Work as a Poll Clerk

To the poster who asked previously, to be a poll clerk you have to be there from 6.15AM until 10PM!!! You are not allowed to leave the polling station so you have to make sure you have enough food and drink etc. For the day and the two hour training session beforehand, its £165. If your council are also having local elections, its an extra £22 something... For the count, I think its usually about £65ish?? Although you do get more if it goes over 1am. I am presuming all Councils pay the same?? If you are a council employee, you also get the day paid to work the election so get your usual salary plus the above.

Re: General Election 2015 - Work as a Poll Clerk

If you are a large council I don't see how it possibly can't go PAST 1am since polls close at 10pm and the ballot boxes have to then be transported to where the count is taking place

I agree Jon. In the local ones, the other half finished at 1.05am! He was not happy lol.. Obviously more people vote in the general so should go way past 1am (she says lol)

Re: General Election 2015 - Work as a Poll Clerk

When my city council sent me an application form, they said as a guide the count at the last General Election finished at 4am. The training session is only an hour for pol clerks so it must vary from council to council.
