It seems to be about £9.00 an hour - more in Manchester and London. There are various shifts available but you need to be close to a seat where they are doing a poll. I used to do mystery shopping for a company that was taken over by Ipsos so I am on their system.

Where do you go to apply for this opportunity with MORI?

I don't know. I was sent an invitation.
Have you done it in the past? I went canvassing at the last election and a few people absolutely refused to tell me how they were going to vote! Like they were afraid I was sent by the secret police and I was going to drag them off to a concentration camp if they did not 'think' right!

Yes, I think that it's about £30. It lasted about 75 mins, but was very dull!
Just got to focus on the Haribo and Biscuits at this point in the game lol

Best of luck for everyone on Thursday!

Just think of the money when you are unbelievably tired and living off haribo sugar!

Did anyone get work in polling? I looked on our local council website and on Indeed's website, but nothing came up. Does it go through agencies?

To the best of my knowledge the work is always via your local council a month or two before the election takes place

I've had a letter through from a Council I sometimes work for offering me elections work for this May. They are quick off the mark!

They are on 7th May this year (the day before the VE day Bank Holiday). In my area it will be local Council elections and Police and Crime Commissioner elections, but in some areas in might be P & CC elections only (or Parish elections). Check your local Council website to see what elections it is holding this year, and contact their elections team if you're interested (though they'll probably say that they haven't started recruiting yet!)

Councils seem to be asking for staff to apply again for the local elections in May now ;)

Yes, my council emailed this week regarding the May elections. I think we just have thee Police and Crime Commissioner poll, so it's going to be a very quiet, long day :(

I worked once when we had that election and nothing else happening. Think it might have been a random October election! Anyway you’ve never seen so few votes lol

Had an email from my Council about working as a PO for next year's local elections (and Police and Crime Commissioner elections) on May 6th. It came with a lot of questions about the suitability of my polling station for holding a socially distanced vote. They are having to do a risk assessment on every single polling station within the city (that's nearly a hundred), so imagine that all Councils are having to do the same.

They're proposing to take on extra staff to manage the voters as 'greeters', and I suspect that a lot of people won't want to work as Poll Clerks if the situation is anything like it is at the moment.

Would you do a day in a Polling Station for £200-300 if we still have Covid-19?
