Had an email from my Council about working as a PO for next year's local elections (and Police and Crime Commissioner elections) on May 6th. It came with a lot of questions about the suitability of my polling station for holding a socially distanced vote. They are having to do a risk assessment on every single polling station within the city (that's nearly a hundred), so imagine that all Councils are having to do the same.
They're proposing to take on extra staff to manage the voters as 'greeters', and I suspect that a lot of people won't want to work as Poll Clerks if the situation is anything like it is at the moment.
Would you do a day in a Polling Station for £200-300 if we still have Covid-19?
