Hey it's been a while but I'm still around - even if I'm not logged in...oops!
Unfortunately we had a holiday booked for the summer holidays to Cornwall for a week however due to financial reasons we've had to cancel. We've lost our deposit but there was just no way we could raise enough funds before the deadline.
This brings me on to the topic of this thread. There's me my partner and our 3 children aged 8, 6 and 2.
No big summer holiday sucks! So we need to pack this year with as much entertainment as possible - budget friendly too!
So far we've had:
- a trip to Gulliver's land - £95 for all of us. One of the cheapest theme parks in our area and although it could do with some TLC it was perfect for the kids as even our 2 year old could go on 99% of the rides!
Booked:
- We're going to Wales for a long weekend. Luckily our grandparents booked a large enough accomodation for us to invade for the last few days - FREE
- Legoland is booked. Tickets were coming in at £195 but thanks to sun savers and a colleague giving me a child goes free voucher we got this down to £87...thank god.
- the great British motor show had a discount for st George's Day so bagged them for around £35.
That's all we have so far. Obviously we'll have the standard trips to the beach etc but really hoping to pack some more places in.
I've added to the list Mercedes Benz World as it's free and possibly brooklands museum as tickets for us come in at £30 using a discount code on buyagift.
Being a Lidl plus member gave me access to an offer for 6 months free days out with the kids subscription (cancelled straight away so no funds taken and still get the 6 months). The deals however are disappointing apart from Blue reef aquarium kids go free with an adult.
Really struggling here. Some attractions are extortionate for what you get and the feedback from friends and family just puts you off.
Any ideas or tips on what we could do? Budget friendly. Recommendations?
We're in the south east with great access to the M3 A3 M25 and M4.
Also who knew that if you empty a jar of hot dogs into a flask, fill with boiling water in the morning...they're ready for lunch!
