Hi All

I hope you are all doing well & staying safe during these times :)

Does anyone know if there are/ where to find any exam invigilator qualifications? They would need to be distance learning/online, but i can't seem to find any solid answers.

Thanks in advance all xx

Hmm

so since there are going to be no exams this year are you saying people are still recruiting for this role in a 'virtual' capacity?

I have done this through an agency and don't have any qualifications for it at all.

Are you after trying to mark work for the likes of Open University?

You don't need any qualifications as far as I know. Experience would be more important.

If you have children at secondary schools, I would start there and see if they are looking for anyone. Invigilation work does not require any specific qualifications.

Hi Jon
:)Sorry i should have been clearer. I am a key worker within a health & social care setting as a trainer. The staff have to complete the diploma level 2 qualification and this has recently changed to include 2 end point exams. To prevent a backlog, and delays to people being qualified, they have asked me to step in and invigilate. I just wondered if i could get a qualification out if it to possibly stand me in good stead if future opportunities arrived

Experience of invigilating for a nationally recognised diploma would be good experience for future jobs with schools / colleges / uni

Do not underestimate how mind bendingly boring invigilating is. My top tip - Don't count the ceiling tiles in the first hour, because then you'll have nothing to do in the second hour.

Here's one approach www.youtube.com/watch?v=o63tkqjb49s

I do exam invigilating sometimes around mock exam and exam time as I work in a school as a teaching assistant. None of the external invigilators have qualifications for it and neither do the teaching assistants just a quick training session. I agree with above it is also the most boring thing ever especially 2hr + exams as you are not really allowed to even read to pass the time.
