Sorry I feel as if I have just uttered swear words on my thread but I feel as if I am at a real crossroads. I am posting about two posts every week but at the moment I've got writers blog. With regards to promoting my blog, I hardly know what I am doing anytime I try and look into anything, I just feel very overwhelmed with the difficulty of it. I watched a youtube video describing all the things you should do with each post the other day and I just couldn't believe the amount there was. I really don't know if I have the time to continue, but at the same time if I give up it feels as if all my work to date is for nothing. At the moment, I need to focus on earning money during the day when the kids are at school so I don't have the time, evenings are busy for various reasons are weekends and this weekend I just feel totally burnt out and cannot face doing anything. Sorry for the rant. I'm wondering if I can carry on on a low level until I have more time to devote to it. Wondering if other people have to go to this point and how they have carried on with it all.

I imagine a lot of people feel like this however in regards to the youtube video you watched for what you should do with a blog post I would say there is NO hard / fast rules for EVERYONE

personally, when I put up a new blog post I do the following
Schedule promotion for Twitter via SocialOomph
Schedule an Instagram about the post
Schedule Facebook promotion
add the blog post to a comment pod to generate comments so the post looks good

That's it!

All in all, it takes me maybe 15/20mins to so from scratch. Probably less

What did the video say you needed to do exactly?

Sorry, how would I add the blog post to a comment pod? Do you mean when I respond to other people's posts? Also, is SocialOomph free? Also, sorry for all the questions, do you mean just put on facebook in the normal way. At the moment I put the link on facebook and also copy and paste the blog post on to my facebook page.

The youtube video was talking about sending the post to your email contacts, podcasts, press releases, content synchronization, all of which went over my head.

Yeah you don't need to do any of that...

Socialoomph does indeed offer a free tier membership from memory. It's only a couple of quid a month if you decide to pay (which I would recommend) - I've written about it here - https://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/blo...y-scheduling-social-media-update-socialoomph/

When I say put it on facebook I mean put it on The Money Shed facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/themoneyshed) so all my followers on there can be notified that I have a new post up each week

I'm massively under-motivated at the moment. I've got about 5-10 half written blog posts on my blog but my get-up-and-go got-up-and-went!

I plan to finish one this evening and schedule it for next week. I think 1 blog post a week is a fair number. I also plan to supliment it with other post and hopefully put together a monthly plan of the additional blog posts I can do. The sun is shining and the birds are singing so I need to get out more. Being out more should give me stuff to blog about.

I take a lot of 'how to make your blog all whizz-bang' with a pinch of salt. I see a lot of bloggers are branching out and some are even now selling blog-related magic beans on-line courses with a mentoring program. Some also have (paid) facebook groups and other things. All stuff you can pretty much get off this forum for free. And if its not on this forum, you can bet someone on here has some good advice.

If anyone is feeling overwhelmed and wants to get back to feeling just 'whelmed' then my recommendation is take a step back, go back to basics, and be small again. Once you are in the zone it will feel much easier and everything will make sense.

No, you don't put them on TMS Facebook page.

I put my ones on there since It's my page for promoting TMS Facebook content.

Do you run a page for your blog? If so that's where you need to promote your posts to your followers
