Finding how to earn from home is like a finding a needle in a haystack sometimes

at least I think it is.

It winds me up when I go from forum to forum with people crying out for information on how to earn money from home in a legitimate way. Maybe they are in financial trouble and don't want to be judged but just want to know where to go to find information on how to increase their income or just earn an income at all and are just hitting a blank wall when they do.

I am struggling to think of a forum of this type that I frequent on where I haven't got an infraction now for pointing people in the direction of this site (or even others) as it gets marked down as 'spam' and the post gets removed. I wish more sites (the green site and some the green site type Facebook groups included) had the same philosophy we have going on here where there is nothing wrong in directing people to other sites for further information without throwing the toys out of the pram the whole time.

If people are after information I don't think it matters as long as they can find it and if you can help them out then all the better. It's no wonder the spam sites rank so highly when people search 'earn money online' as this whole arena just seems to sometimes be a very 'in the know' type club which is quite hard to penetrate and I don't think it should be.

Maybe people are worried about increased competition for jobs/roles but that isn't anything unique to the 'earn from home' market. Just because you want to earn from home does not make it any easier to get the job in the end (look at things like the exam for Lionbridge etc.)

So you have the 'working online stigma' then the fact that finding information on legit work is hard enough - It's a wonder sometimes we ever see people on the other side actually earning money.

I do think its a bit odd that the green site and the Facebook groups don't allow you to post your own links. Its totally obvious when someone is spamming rubbish. Surely the odd link isn't going to hurt.

i sometimes wonder (especially with forum links) that they are scared that once you visit another website you will leave theirs forever!

I think it's more of a case that if these big sites allowed the odd back link then the flood gates would open and the place would be full of spam, on a site like this many are here for the same reason, looking for opportunities and to learn from each other. But I think we all have an obligation to provide value and relevant content.

Fair point but if the relevant content is wrapped around the back link what benefit does deleting an entire post of information bring. I think also manual account approval is a LOT to do with how links are viewed on TMS in that you feel that a post is here to help in its first instance.

I just wish it was a case that if someone wants to learn how to earn money online no matter what the method that when they searched those topics the first 15 options weren't all scambait sites. Maybe that is more to do with how Google views content I suppose

Couldn't agree more on this

I wish you searched for "earn money online" and got a nice web page giving off links to clickers or mystery shopping or task based sites. Instead what you seem to get is just a ton of "get rich quick" sites that try to scam the reader into handing over money.

If it wasn't for sites like the green site and this one I think people would REALLY struggle to even know what they should be looking for it what to trust

I agree. Forums like this are a good resource for helping people to make money and avoid the scams.
I think it is good when a Forum allows people to post a link in their signature.
I find it helpful to see other people's blog/website link in the signature and it doesn't send me away from the Forum though I might check the link out and save it I will still come back to the Forum to post.
Everyne is different what works for one person won't be for someone else.
This and the green site are a good way to find genuine, decent paying sites that can earn you extra income from home.

On the green site it's hard to post any sort of link, isn't it? It's annoying when you're trying to point someone to something and you can't. And yes, it's very easy to tell who is spamming and who isn't!

I agree it does get annoying when you can't just point out something. You then have to PM the person or the person PM's you if you want a link rather than just having a signature which is simple. It is easy enough to spot spammers.

That is ridiculous seeing as you didn't post an actual referral link or anything.
I haven't had any problems so far though all I do if someone is asking for a referral link in a post I just PM that person straightaway without making a post about it. Once or twice I have just replied with a 'I will PM you' with no other details that way no one really knows what it is about.

yet it is ok for the green site mod to gain money by posting betfair referral and then boast about it.
I don't really like the green site but do use for certain things but most of it is rubbish and old stuff never updated.

It's a bit ironic when the main man of the green site made his living from affiliation and then sold his control to a would be competitor for £87m ???

I’ve been working from home for over 7 years now. Only work part time, 10-20 hrs a week, but managed to earn at least £500 a month, every month for all that time and never worked for less than minimum wage, often over it. Been banned from a couple of online forums when trying to help as people simply don’t believe you can earn real money without leaving your house!

I have now found a job outside the home and the number of people who think I was just bluffing for all that time and was really just unemployed is weird! The money I earned is real, even paid tax and NI on it!!

There seems a real stigma attached to it and I can understand why people keep quiet. Even when I try and help people via PM and let them know the companies I worked for, most people still think its some kind of scam.

I have had that on numerous forums as well - people think it is Spam just because my post count may not be very high without realising that I am offering them a opportunity.

Doesn't help when the the green site Guide to earning money online starts with this paragraph

Most 'earn cash from home' ads are cons. Yet if you've a computer or smartphone, there's a host of small ways to boost your coffers. Dedicated MoneySavers can earn £1,000s a year from their sofa, often with no special skill required.
