Hi everyone, glad to be on board!

I’ve been lurking a bit as I’ve been setting up my blog and social media channels, as well as studying other ways to make money.

I’ve just read Jon’s guest post on The Female Money Doctor’s blog about making £1000 in a month and just took a look at the task apps. I’m amazed that I can earn £3 just for checking a street name down the road from me! That’s pretty incredible.

I’d like to do matched betting but am a little worried about doing it simply because I know I’ll need to pay attention and I have two young kids - AND it’s the summer holidays.

Trying to focus on my debt-free journey at this time of year was never going to be easy!

It's a large one, just over £20K (although more if you include my husband's). But we're on a money-saving and making mission to get it all paid off. My mum always told me patience is a virtue but I've never been very good at being patient - that's why it's so great that there are so many helpful people on here and in the debt free community.

Has anyone had any success with typing? I've clicked on one of the ads at the top of the page for typing jobs, and this one https://dataentrytyping.com wants £26 for a training pack. I am always dubious about paying out for something, despite the "testimonials" down the side of the page. Just interested to know if anyone has found any sites that work well for them. Thanks.

just think of the money you would save in interest if you get that paid off, there is a diary sub forum on here would be good to follow your journey if you set one up :)

I can’t wait to be debt-free and enjoy that feeling of having saved for something to pay for it instead of using credit. I remember that feeling as a kid; it totally changes your perception of the value of something.

Aye it’s very different

I am very long term with money so my most recent holiday to Florida I’ve booked last week and have paid the £100 deposit and will just chip away at the £2200 balance until 6 weeks before November 2019.if anything this sort of thinking helps motivate me!

I know @katykicker is doing a similar thing with buying a car at the moment.

I always find people we quick to save first to fund something while I am not one for cutting corners financially and would instead just make the money instead :)

Yeah I like saving up for things these days. it motivates me!

Already at £700 towards a new car and only started this month. This is additional extra income I want to earn too, not cutting back or anything,

Don't do it. If you're looking for typing work, do you have any transcription or secretarial experience?

Hi, thank you. I didn’t :)

I do have secretarial experience and typing speed of 70WPM. Bizarrely there never seems to be any typing work available.

Take a look at Take Note, scribie, Rev.com, transcribe me and Crowdsurf. I make most of my online money audio typing. Have never paid a penny out either. Other than on some decent headphones but didn’t need them, just makes it easier.
