Counting down! Hoping for a profitable cheltenham now to boost the spending money pot. Florida is not a cheap holiday as I am learning! Might stick to something a little closer to home next year!
What unexpected costs have you come up against?

None really. The insurance was more expensive than I had wanted but we needed a decent cover as my daughter's eye condition can be made worse by flying. It's more the fact that I'm used to all inclusive and have never had to budget for food and drink before. Plus my husband and daughter know how to shop and have big plans. But we've got a fairly decent amount saved so far. I think I'm over worrying but dont want to go all that way and run out of cash.

yeah i get what you mean. You don't want to go all the way and live like some kind of pauper lol

Comfort Suites breakfast will take care of you at the start of each day. You can take fruit + yogurt + drinks from there as well. You can also get tea / coffee / hot chocolate etc for free from the food / dining area when you come back from the parks each night!

Also, take advantage of the fact there is a freezer in your room. Take some empty coke bottles with you, fill them up with water in the hotel and put them in the freezer. Then the next day you will have 5 or 6 frozen bottles of water which will stay cool all day.. MAJOR MONEY SAVER!!

28th March! We've started writing our list now! So excited!
Good luck with getting the rides you want

I actually only just discovered that as I’m staying on site I can actually book at 60 days out+ 14 days so what I have to do is actually work backwards when it comes time for me to book them in September

You can make your FastPass+ reservations 60 days in advance of check-in for up to 14 days (assuming you have valid ticket media for all those days) of your stay. For instance, if your check in day is December 1, you may not only make FastPass+ reservations for your check-in day on October 2 (60 days prior to December 1), but you may also make reservations for up to 14 days of your stay (through December 14), even though they are more than 60 days away.

Am hoping this will mean I stand some chance of getting on the rides when Star Wars land opens in the fall!

18 DAYS!!!!!! Not that we're counting or anything! Had a bit of a last minute panic when husband lost his passport as we were about to apply for ESTA's but found it and now all I need to do is make as much cash as I can before we go! Don't think I've ever been so active on the MBing!

Florida Folk!

With about 2 months to go i'm now starting to think about spending money.

Since this is the first time we are staying onsite at Disney and there is just 2 adults and we have free dining I'm thinking £500 will be enough for the 2 weeks.

Any thoughts?

Is £18 a day, per person, enough to enjoy it? It doesn't sound like much - especially as last time I bought a beer in the US I had to sell a kidney.

We are on the free dining plan so nothing to pay for food and drink effectively except when we eat at universal or seaworld

£500 is about $610

Seaworld is around $100 a ticket, so if you are planning on going there thats $200 gone. Universal studios another $100. Basically anything you do outside of Disney is soon going to add up.

Already paid for

Universal / volcano bay tickets
Seaworld tickets
Car hire

So this is strictly for “spends” when I am there

Fair enough. All inclusive and tickets paid for sounds like you should be ok.
You can always take a card for any extra emergency spending.

aye, have to take a CC anyway as without one over there its a NIGHTMARE. Some places (petrol stations etc) just can't cope with UK debit cards at all!!

All food and drink? [owen wilson]Wow![/owen wilson]

It still feels a little low but I've not been on many trips where all F&D are included.
