Anyone done any?

I've done a few, the money is very nice as it pays well (usually £40-60 for an hour or so I have found) however they always seem to want to meet in the daytime which can be a pain.

I get invited to quite a few online focus groups now where you take part in Live Chats to talk about various issues or brands and get paid near enough instantly.

The two companies I use the most are
https://www.code3research.co.uk/
and
www.sarosresearch.com

Anyone else had any luck doing them?

I signed up for Saros the other day. It took a few days for the confirmation email to come through after I filled in the signup questionnaire. They give you the impression that most of the focus groups are held in London and not so many elsewhere in the country. Are you near London?

If you're in the west midlands, Podengo, code 3, and saros are good.
Most of the above are for London but they do online ones too.
I'd highly recommend using your alternative e-mail for this. I have an e-mail just for signing up for things and I use that e-mail. You'll get 10-20 a day!!

You're welcome!

I find them by looking on gumtree -- I search for market research or focus groups, and then sign up.

Even if you don't live in London it might be worth it as a few do online ones or will pay you to go to London just because they're looking for a certain group.

Good going Jon, these groups are pretty great.

I always ask everyone else at each group if they know anyone else, which is how I found out about podengo!

I've applied to two or three recently but I'm not sure if I'll get them or not.

I remember the first 'real face to face' focus group I did a few years back

Was a right mish mash of people from every corner of Leeds..

Suppose that is the point of a focus group though.

I get offered quite a few in the city centre of Leeds which is where I work and sometimes they are at lunchtime so very easy to fit in.

Nearly at the end of my week doing the online focus group.

Been pain free (though the subject is a bit....meh)

Still £50... not to be sniffed at.

You are so lucky. I've only ever been picked for one.

I think it all just comes down to what they are looking for

Maybe they don't have that many 32 year old males in Leeds on their books

Most focus groups don't seem to have a lot of men in general. I tried to get my husband to sign up, but it's part of that "online stigma" mentioned in another thread. (Even though most focus groups aren't online.)

My last one was this year and online too.

I would agree with you. It seems the majority of home earners (I prefer that saying to home workers) that I come across are female and like you say there is a good chance that they already have a ton of 18-35 year old females on their books.
