Hi all.

So I've been doing this matched betting gig for awhile now. I've currently done around 9 or 10 welcome offers with bookies. So I've got some experience but wouldn't class myself as an expert at all!

What are your views and experiences with matched betting sites that have a subscription? I've been reading you can make more money with them and it's worth paying rather than just sticking the free sites. However, the sites that say that are all making money via affiliate marketing so I guess they would say that. You just never know who you can totally trust.

So has anybody had experience with paid (oddsmonkey for example) over free (team profit for example) and is it worth paying the sub each month?

Don't be put off by the fact I have an affiliate link in my signature below. I do think the paid services are useful. I use a fair few of the tools on OM - the oddsmatcher is quite useful and the fact you can set up email alerts from it is very useful for me, and the eachway matcher is good for the 'extra place' offers. The big thing though for me at the moment (and I am now into my 4th year doing this) is the 0% commission with Smarkets and Matchbook (also available for Betdaq - but I don't use them) as this easily pays for the subscription (quite a few times over in fact)

In the early days the guides for the offers will be helpful (and they - including the users posting on the forums - will find ones you will miss) especially the next 'level' of offers you will consider if you have finished most of the 'easy' ones, but once you start doing a lot more Matched Betting the 0% is definitely the thing that justifies the subscription for me.

the difference in what you will make from a free service compared to say Profit Accumulator or OddsMonkey is very large. The tools alone you can't be without during say Cheltenham week. Both sites also offer a larger community so OddsBoosts etc are far more rife

What jkg-jkg said, saves time and minimises mistakes. More than pays for itself in my experience.

I don't know PA that well, but OM's range of tools is excellent. The OddsMatcher, Each Way Matcher, Racing Matcher, etc are all very useful.
OM's forum is a jumbled mess, but for the £150 a year these sites charge I'd say its definitely worth it.

It would take all day to find odds and offers on your own.

The large community forums can be a drawback, as boosts/edges get stopped by the bookies when the masses pile in.

I'm also confused as to why some sites charge an extra subscription fee for sports and casino memberships.

Thank you, everybody, for the replies!

I've taken your advice and joined up with Odds Monkey. I'm on a 14-day free premium trial, so let's see how it goes! I haven't had a chance to properly have a look around yet. There is so much to take in! Looks a lot more advanced than I am used to. I have a long way to go with my matched betting journey.

Thanks again. I appreciate it.

I'm no expert myself and still make the odd mistake but it will DEFINITELY be worth it overall - any questions just shout!

The paid sites are definitely worth using. In the early days I didn’t use them for the first couple of months and did fine, but once I was really hitting the offers it was such a time saver. Which one you use is a matter of choice. I’ve tried 3 different ones and for me Oddsmonkey has been the best. The tools on there are worth the subscription alone, and with 0% commission deals at Smarkets, Betdaq and Matchbook you can save your subscription through the commission you’re not paying. Matched Betting might not be quite as lucrative as it once was, but these sites can help you keep the money coming for sure. I’ve made around £82,000 from this game (and I have rarely been around much at weekends, which are most lucrative) and plenty have made more. You’ve only scratched the surface with 8 or 9 sites. I’ve done about 200 and I know others who have done nearer 400!
