I'm getting really frustrated at the moment, I am putting in a lot of work on my blog and my DA is still only 5, which means monetising it is quite difficult. I've tried the affiliate route, Amazon keep kicking me off every 3 months as I'm not driving sales (I'm not good at this as I am not a Salesperson). I have been working hard for nearly a year, and apart from a blog I really don't have much to show for it, can anyone help? Or just stop me sinking further into this hole. I post three times a week with Friday Focus on being my regular feature, where I pick a charity, last weeks was a very local charity Wokingham in Need, and this weeks is all about MIND (following Mental Health Week). Help?

Post a link to your blog so we can have a look and see if we have any suggestions.
You could also pop the link in your on signature here so anyone interested can visit straight from your post :)

I know it's clunky, but it works!

You need to get a handle on your stats and understanding them.

How many people are viewing your site a month?
Where are they coming from?
What queries are they putting into Google to reach your site?

All this sort of information that Google Analytics and Google Search Console will give you is PRICELESS as it will let you guide further content for your audience and giving them what they want is key to getting ENGAGED returning viewers!

Think I need lessons in that. I don't have a clue what I'm looking for! When I had some spare time I did do a quick calculation and I'm gaining one new person a day, but I haven't had a lot of time just recently. I will look back into that. Thank You x

MOZ have got a fantastic 'Beginners Guide' to Google Analytics which you should follow and implement

If that is still too much for you then you could install the Jetpack plugin in Wordpress which would give you at least a basic level of information about your stats and then you could go from there.

In terms of your blog generally, you've got some FANTASTIC posts on in your Focus ON feature about the different charities that if you did some SEO on could rank really well.

What you need to grasp is 'keywords'

So if you take for example this post of yours

If you went after the keyword 'Christian Aid' that's quite a broad term and you would struggle to rank well I think because the first page of Google at the very least would be that charity and other larger websites.

However if you went for the keyword for any of these long tail keywords (How does Christian Aid raise money is a good one) they have a lot less competition and a decent volume of 880 searches on Google.co.uk a month) and you would rank far higher when people search for the query in question (just make sure if you focus on one of these keywords that you focus on answering the question as that's why people are there!)

How come I've not come across that. I'm with Moz and that's how I know my DA (and no it didn't change when they messed about!) Need to set some time aside to have a good read. Thank You x
