Hi [member=6257]hkjacks[/member] it really is - I work from home full-time, as do quite a few other people here. Also, others, like [member=1]Jon[/member] and [member=2821]mabozza[/member] make a full time wage on top of their full-time wage!!

I don't want to throw a spanner in the works with regards to matched betting, but according to a few people in the business the bookies are
clamping down on any on who seems to be using their new accounts for those purposes.

In their artillery they are using spying tools including iesnare and fingerprinting and any sign of that or arbing and they'll close your account. Afterall, it
is their business and it's supposedly costs them in excess of £20m per month.

they've been saying that for the 10+ years MBing has been around!

A lot of money we make with MBing now is by using tools for horse refunds and accas instead of just straight up doing offer after offer after offer lol

I've been properly matched betting almost a year and this is all I hear too, week after week :) I've been gubbed once and one of my accounts I've actually won/cashed out more than £15,000 now. They've moved me into a VIP club ;)

Hi [member=1]Jon[/member]

Thanks for asking. Things have been going very well in the new year. I am starting to get a full time wage from my business and I am still mystery shopping on top of that. I have a pretty regular mystery shop which brings me in about £200 per month and my business is up to about £1300 net profit. For the first and last year I am glad that I will be paying tax this year. I tried a regular contract with appen which didn't work out but I definitely learnt a lot from it about what kind of work I want to do. I am very glad that I decided not to go and get a 'job'. I have found that splitting my financial goal for the month into small chunks helps. I decide how much I want my mystery shopping earnings to be for the month and then break it down into a daily amount. I then have a separate goal for the business. It is working so much better that way.

Just catching up with this thread @Elaine

I hope you are still doing well. I used to really enjoy mystery shopping when I was doing it and I always found it worked out even better if you could fit it into your normal daily life (lunch/ meal out / weekend away somewhere) etc ;)

Things have changed a little over the last couple of months. I have stopped mystery shopping completely apart from one nice regular job. I definitely don't miss the reports. I have stopped focussing on short term money wins and am instead thinking more long term. My business is now full time which is very nice. I have a master plan to expand my business. I have set up a second etsy shop and I have lots and lots and lots to focus on. I now need to make sure that I am not working too much, which I seem to be doing at the moment. I seem to be glued to the computer listing things constantly.

As of next week though I have set hours to work. I am going to try not to work weekends at all.My husband has got a new job (he is a nurse) which is 9-5 monday to friday. For the first time in years we can all plan and I can work regular hours. I can't wait for him to start. No more nights and no more shift work. I'll update as to whether I actually get the weekends off.

I have also been selling junk on ebay. I am slowly clearing stuff out of the house.

This all sounds really positive @Elaine

Trying to get that balance right can be hard at the start as the reality is that when you start up any new business you WILL be glued to your screen as there is so much to do. I would say it won't be like that forever but the reality I suppose with your shop is that if someone sends in a customer query at 11am on a Saturday they aren't going to want to wait until Monday morning to get that reply.

Can I be really rubbish and ask what exactly matched betting is? You all keep talking about it but I have never placed a bet in my life!

Sure!

Simple Explanation - Matched Betting uses free bets offered by bookies to make a profit by acting as both the punter and the bookie when you place a bet. Everything is done in pairs - you make 2 actual bets at a time. A qualifying bet is made for a small loss (qualifying loss) and this unlocks your 'free' bet which you then make a guaranteed profit (minus the QL).

on the banner of this site is a link for Profit Accumulator and if you click through it and sign up you will see how to make £45(-ish). Watch the videos, read the instructions, watch the videos again, read the instructions again, and then do them with no distractions while taking your time. :)

Congrats on your progress Elaine. I'm currently supplementing my work with mystery shops and task apps and am bringing in an extra £250-400 each month. It's helping toward my mortgage savings!
