Aye up!

How you getting on with WooCommerce?

I spent a bit more money this week to have a WooCommerce dev create some additional functionality such as letting people order at 500 word checkpoints and not just each thousand + some other things I wanted doing.

I'm now so deep into WooCommerce I fear it would be a nightmare transfering it all to another 'online shop' solution! lol

I really like it - am so glad I went for that option. I am still tinkering around with it but get a steady drip of sales. I have an active page on Facebook - the irony as that is the source of most of my sales lol. I am in two minds as to whether I just had the sales page as a whole different website with with a direct link from my blog. It's almost outgrown the original idea of the page so I am in a bit of a conundrum over it all. I am on the Mega package with HostPresto so can stretch to another website easily.
I am about to launch my first online course so that's kind of taken over at the moment. Once that is going and hopefully getting me some decent revenue then I may think again.
Although another part of me wants to keep it as it is but maybe slim down the menu on the website so that it is the Blog, the Podcast, the Shop. The reviews have never really taken off. I might just recycle them as Blogs and the Tutorials are all on YouTube so don't really need them on there?
So many options.

Thought I'd drop by just to update on where I am at. Currently on target to reach my goal money wise for the year. My website updating gig is going well and they seem pleased.
My online shop has been going OK, I just need to promote it more consistently and tweak the products. I had been putting a lot of time into another project which I am sad to say seems to have died a complete death.
I created an online foaling course, set up a Facebook group to promote it and not one single sale. It's very frustrating as engagement in the group is high. I did my first ever Facebook live and it went really well, had loads of engagement but sadly no conversion to sales
I even ran an email campaign from those that signed up to show an interest. The First round of ads had a 24% open rate with an 8% click rate, but the next round was dire with 0% rate. I have a few more ideas but foaling is a bit of seasonal thing so it might be worth engaging with the group over the next few months and push it in the new year. I am trying to be philosophical about it because I have learnt a whole new range of editing skills.
In more positive new I was interviewed by another horsey podcaster and that episode should be out in July. It was super exciting and she was really interesting to chat to. She has a huge following on Instagram and is a part of an very active community so I am hoping that I can use this to my benefit. I promoted my services for consultancy etc.
Which leads onto the next project - monetizing my Tutorials. So online courses are heavy going for little reward currently and I started to look around at what other people offering similar content do. One of the comments off my various Facebook/Instagram and Yotube forays was that I had a lot of knowledge to give. Another trainer suggested setting up a Patreon. She has one which is very successful and she thinks it might work for me. So I am going to tie that in with my podcast interview appearance and build up interest before launch. The podcast is due out in mid July so I am going launch the Patreon a week later. In the meantime that is set up ready to go and I will start to draft the content.
If it works I may look to migrate it to my website, as I have seen membership plugins but Patreon is a free way to test the idea first.
Sorry for the long message but a lot is going on!

This is my end of year check-in. So a new job and commuting has been taking up loads of my energy but mentally so much better than my old job. Going forwards for 2023 I am making a few changes. Being brutal as it were.
Stuff that is going
The shop on my website - it's actually breaking the website, my hosting platform have been really helpful but it's just not bringing in any sales without a lot of effort - am gutted but it's just not worth the damage its done.
Stuff that is changing
Some of the products from the shop will be converted to Amazon KPD - yes the returns are lower but the sales will be higher
Total website over haul to make it slicker and less bitty
Stuff that is new or working
I've built a new website!
Amazon KPD has been earning good money with zero input. So focus there.

Will update soon.
