WOW!!

If there's one thing that still amazes me about TMS it's the fact that people just feel so willing and natural to talk about their personal situations regarding money and to an extension their life as a whole.

It seems like you've got a great hold on your finances now and it's literally a case of 'onwards and upwards' which I think is the right mentality. Sometimes you can drag negativity with you for too long when it's best to draw a line under what happened with your finances, you've sorted it! and now it's time to move on!!

I'll leave you a surprise in the Magic Kingdom next month when I go for you to find next August ;)

I find it therapeutic to write down. It is nice to read back in months to come and if it helps someone else then maybe it makes the pain I deal with worth it.

Definitely onwards and upwards. I have more motivation now after a period of self development. #timetotalk

Gem what a story but thank you for sharing it! I'm sure there are a lot of people in the same situation but it can turn around when you least expect it.

So glad the new job is working out and what a way to repay your family! Looking forward to seeing how your diary continues!

I think writing down stuff can definelty help you accept where you are at and move forward

Just make sure you add some volcano bay tickets!!!!

Great post Gem.

There's something about writing... it doesn't matter if nobody reads it i just instantly feel better after.

I'm not sure Volcano Bay is any good yet. My kids will be 9 and 7. Possibly still a little young. We will go universal in a few more years when we can all appreciate it together. BUT.....it does look amazing! Are you going next month Jon?

We had one but that day the kids asked to stay at the hotel for a while as they were shattered.

So worried about going in August though. We nearly melted this May. August is sure to be unbearable! But there is no other time of year we can go without paying stupid money xx

Backwards. Sadly I am even thinking about cancelling as I cannot get back to it. I am back to work in a few days so hopefully that will give me a bit of a kick start xx

Ok. I am trying to get my head out of my arse!! I have had what can only be described as a horrific summer. I am now on a new course of medication (which I am certain is not working) and rapidly running out of time to sort my life out. For many reasons I need to sort my life out.

To begin with I have started jiggling bank accounts. Trying to make my current money work for me. It is taking some time to get my head around it - mainly because said head is full of cotton wool. But slow and steady.

I have today started looking at the matched betting again. This is not going to be easy. I m currently stuck in a cycle of doctor requested time for myself, plus trying to keep the house in order and make additional cash.

So slow and steady we go.

Ok so feeling little more focused today. I reworked our budget last night. Previously I have allowed a buffer in each category however I have decided to jiggle things round so spare cash goes into the savings pot. I ended up having a day off with my poorly daughter today and actually benefitted myself having been ill all weekend. Going to go through all clothes this week and get them weighed in. Got a couple of old christmas jumpers from the kids last couple of years so I will get those selling too. It isn't much but it will definitely help my overall aim of tidy home too.

Did a couple of prolific academic surveys today which is starting to add up and great to slot in here and there. Got my christmas shopping to start today too and have a bunch of vouchers to kick off with. This year we are going to slim down what we actually buy each other. We are working hard for a clutter free home and with money saving this works nicely.

fair play to you if you can make money from Christmas Jumpers lol

Seems like you are far more organised with your money making plans!

So not a bad first week of the month. I have spent a bit of time on Prolific Academic doing short bursts of work. Surprised quite how much it has built up with the little bits of work I have done. My attention span has been pretty bad after a summer of doctors messing with my medication. Not really back on track yet but I plan to do a couple of reloads on MB tomorrow. I am finding it quite overwhelming at the moment so going to break in gradually.

Arranged a collection of clothes to weigh in. Not worth much but an extra few quid. I will get rid of the kids old shoes and clothes as well as a few bits I replaced for myself. Anything not in a good condition goes in the material bin. Clear out of clothing and hopefully a few pennies over this weekend.

Got to get back to it gradually otherwise it will all be too much.

You are doing AMAZING!!

Taking it all in your stride is the right thing to do when you are just coming back to the 'earning online' thang!

I have to remember two things.

1. It is like I am starting over and thus should treat it that way.
2. This is a marathon not a sprint.

:p

This is so true!

Also the longer you do this the more you get exposed to higher earning stuff!!
