I feel a bit stupid but how is that so? I understand if a free bet comes into play but backing and laying at the same odds can't generate a profit at the initial stage :/

I'm missing something, aren't I? :D

I edited my post above with some exciting maths to show you!
Your laying less than the full stake, £7.80 instead of £10, which locks in profit.

Probably a bit of a late reply for the OP, but here goes anyway. Matched Betting is still definitely worth it. I started out toward the end of 2007 with £50. I work full time and rarely have time to place bets at the weekend either (the best time), but I still managed to make £10K a year for the first 5 years. But as the gubbings really hit home it got harder, and I only made about £5K a year the next 4 years. Eventually with all the big books closed totally and many of the smaller ones also gone I decided to jack it in. I had made £72.5K.

Then after 2 years off I decided to have a dabble again. I expected to struggle to make anything at all with so few accounts, but found some new ones had started up and have also done some LR Casino. I have made £7.5K in 14 months, but if I had all the UK books I'm sure that could be doubled easily. So, yeah, it's definitely still worth it.

Well I'm going back into it.
I'm moving home and have a Revolut account so, hopefully, I can get all the free bets again. Even if I can't I can still follow the very comprehensive guidelines on here to start generating a small, passive income.

So, I've finally got it into again (!)

I used to use a spreadsheet before to track everything, but now I can't find it. Any idea where I can get it from?

Any reason you can’t use the built in income tracker with PA or OM? It’s probably the easiest way to track :)

Lol

there’s a lovely button you can click on the calculator to add the bet to your tracker :)

I need to keep trying to remember to do this. The other advantage of the spreadsheet was it helped me track where my money was deposited. Can I do this on the PA tracker too?
