Where does this leave my Dr Puppet video??

Seriously though I wonder what has made Google make this change?

This YouTube change is ANOTHER REASON why you should always diversify your online income and never put all your eggs in one basket. I've been burned by that already twice before in the last 6 years lol

I get the change personally especially in the watched hours over 10000 views.
10000 views could be quiet easy to achieve and in terms can be done by people clicking on it for a few seconds then heading away. People could cheat the system
the 1000 subscribers is a tough one.

It's not going to affect me all that much as I've earned a whopping $50 over the last 5 years but there are other's I've seen who don't meet both criteria and earn well from their channels.

We have the likes of PewDiePie and Logan Paul to thank for these changes...

Anyhoo, 1k subs was my target for the year so it looks like I'm going to try to hit that sooner rather than later.

How have those two caused this?

They have millions of followers so how does the top end up end up having an affect on the bottom?

Due to their actions, YouTube are having to look at how they police the channels they're paying to host ads on. PewDiePie caused many of the big brands who pay YouTube for their advertising to question as to whether or not YouTube was the right place for them. At the end of the day, their ad appears on a YouTuber's channel and their viewers associate the YouTuber with that brand.

Many YouTubers saw their revenue slashed after the PDP racism incident.

Now the Logan Paul uproar has added on even more damage so YouTube needs to think about saving its own arse first, one way is by making it much harder for channels to earn money so they're not paying out as much.

I think the issue isn’t as simple as people think.

Youtube’s Problem is anyone can earn considerable money. But more importantly, EVERYONE could earn acceptable money. For every PDP or That other guy, there are thousands more other people who are racists/stupid/combination that make a living from YouTube. I’ve had a YouTube Adsense account for over a decade but now none of my videos earn anything. I think I’d earn mayb $5-$10 a year for the last 5 years but I EARNED that.

Now they ONLY want PDP / The other guy. It actually says were happy to support racists as long as other racists watch their racist videos and they have lots of racists subscribers.

I think that the death of Vine has caused YT to decide to only pay out the big players.

They will still earn from all videos they display, except now they will only pay you if you have over 1000 subscribers and each subscriber watches 4 hours of video a year. If you are a ‘viner’ who moved over, thats nearly 2400 videos that they have to create for every subscriber to watch once.

It really stinks and I think that there will be more of a movement against this and I think YT may actually change their stance.

I don’t think that’s it. They aren’t quality controllers. They will pay out on a video of black screen with no sound as long as the creator has 4000 hours of viewings and 1000 subscribers.

They don’t pay people with no views. Heck.you need about 1000 views to get a dollar. But you need £75 before you can cash out Adsense money. So you need 100k views before you can actually cash out.

I think it a cynical ploy to look to be doing something while actually doing nothing.
