My kids bought me a copy of The Secret Garden by Johanna Basford (who is a great example of a successful work at home mum, btw) for Mothers Day and I am addicted. I had forgotten just how relaxing colouring in can be.

Her work is just gorgeous, lots of intricate designs and things to colour. Love it. Have to hide the book from the kids as they all want a shot too.

This is a massive market at the moment - and a huge opportunity for anyone who is arty.

Ahh yes I saw this on the page of a Mum that I know recently.

I'm not very arty but I might be interested in having a go at this :)

What are you using to colour it in please?

I've seen the book is on Amazon :)

I've bought one recently too, mentioned it to Lynnie for her daughter as a de-stress for exams. I've got some pens for mine but they bleed through the paper a bit so might switch to pencil. It is very relaxing!

My daughter is autistic and she spends hours colouring in designs. She makes the designs herself on the computer (usually intricate patterns) and then colours them in.

It helps her relax when she is feeling stressed out by the world.

There are a HUGE amount of these books on Amazon! Some are just £4. Thanks again for mentioning. When I get some vouchers I'm waiting for from focus groups I'm going to buy some fineliners and nice pencils and a book or two :) Sounds like a great way to relieve stress, which I have a lot of at the moment.

I absolutely love Johanna Basford's art, I don't have any of her books though (though I quite fancy getting one!). I think some of her work could make a very cool tattoo. She has a guide to what pens/pencils are best to use on her blog, hope its OK for me to post the link here? http://www.johannabasford.com/blog-article/384

I've seen some people on my facebook post up their colouring book pictures. I think they mentioned getting the anti-stress one in The Works.

edit: yes this is one of the ones mentioned - http://www.theworks.co.uk/p/drawing-books/art-therapy---an-anti-stress-colouring-book/9781782434436

I've been colouring the animal kingdom one. Finding it nice and relaxing so far. I'm not very crafty or good at anything art based so colouring in is about the length of my skill! :)

[member=362]Kelzky[/member] that looks beautiful! I do oil painting and I like expressionism, ... not sure I'd have the patience for colouring between the lines, however I'm loving the results.

I really like that [member=362]Kelzky[/member] :)
Looks very intricate and stunning. Must have taken you awhile to colour all that in.

My daughter started her book last night Kelzky and she is loving it! She's doing it right now actually and has told me it really helps, so thanks again for mentioning this, I had no idea there were colouring books for adults.

That is good. I did not know either that there were colouring books for adults.
Something I think I would be interested in doing. :)

I've been finding it really relaxing. I find, so far, that when I'm doing it I remember things I had forgotten during the day and it gives me a chance to unwind. Also I listen to my husband more doing that than on the computer!

This adult colouring is the latest craze in my house. I can't believe how relaxed I feel when I'm colouring. Reminds me of being a kid again and getting lost in my world of making colouring and drawing that stayed on the fridge for a day then went in the bin. Lol.
