Apparently, according to the green site you can now claim some of the cost just for having had PPI, even when you asked for it in the first place.

It is to do with a court ruling called Plevin. Basicallly if more than 50% of the PPI cost went to the lender as commission and it wasn't disclosed to you, you can claim the extra back e.g 70% commission would mean you are able to get 20% of the costs back.

To qualify your PPI and loan had to have been active in or around April 2008 and later.

If you have had a previous mis-selling claim rejected (even by the Ombudsman), you can still claim and should make a Plevin complaint if you bought PPI from a bank.
*You are NOT eligible for any Plevin cash if your mis-sold claim was successful and you have had payment for it.

It looks like you are still best to use the Resolver tool etc. for claims where it was mis-sold to you in the first place.

Worth looking into :)

I find if you just Google 'bank name + ppi' it comes up with their PPI complaints page and gives you the online form to fill in for them to run a check to see if you have had PPI with them

I really don't know where to start with a PPI claim as I couldn't possibly remember all the companies I've had loans, credit cards etc with. I had looked at the Claim Guys before but was put off with the % they would take. Didn't realise you could get them to check for you then pursue yourself.
I have successfully got money back from my bank for Added Value Accounts by fluke! Had a company call me a few years ago and they got me on a day where I thought I would play along with it. They contacted Lloyds TSB on my behalf for no cost and Lloyds came back and said I was due nothing. No loss so I forgot about it. 1 year later Lloyds wrote to me and said we've looked at your claim again and we were wrong, we owe you £670 and they put it in my account!!! No fee due, result.

Just got my letter from the nationwide through after using resolver. They’re giving me £436.68!! I’d have never done it if it wasn’t for this discussion so thanks all!

Anyone know if PPI would be involved on credit cards that have ALWAYS been paid off in full each month? Never taken out any loans or had wages covered etc. Only other thing was a mortgage from decades past, do they count?

Thanks :)

My understanding is that yes you can claim PPI against credit cards as sometimes PPI was mixed in with your monthly repayments and you may not have even been aware of it!

Had a sorbof success, had a letter from Tesco saying in owed 350+ back but as I have an outstanding debt it will be paid to the company I owe money to first. I have an arrangement withheld debt company. Are Tesco allowed to do that? Need some advice please.

From what I can Google the debt is between me And a third party as they have bought the debt. The bank has no right to transfer that money to a third party.

Might be worth asking at a Citizen's Advice Bureau or posting on a forum that deals more with financial stuff maybe? Or at least ringing Tesco to see what their legal obligations are.
